Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
Figures. Like usual, my wife made me stop before I was done so she could plant the rest of the flowers in the front bed and shrub bed before I could finish. I guess she decided that since I got most of it done faster that she expected I would, she could just expand the project!

I think it is the basic difference in thinking between me and her. She sees it as 3 hours work and therefore, I should work for 3 hours. I see it as a project and the faster I get it done, the sooner I can rest. Maybe that’s also the difference between an hourly wage mentality and a salary mentality. She has only ever had hourly wage jobs and I have always had project or salary based jobs.

Happy with the progress on trailer.
Decided tomorrow i will try to get shifter installed in the ELcamino..
No problem, back trailer up to hoist and push car into shop straight onto hoist. Wiggle and jiggle truck around, get ball lined up with coupler, go to crank trailer down.jack is a pos and half-seized.
Did i mention no problem?
Finally get it straightened away
And lower onto ball-nope latch trips and back up it goes. Two hands to operate jack and one to hold latch.
No problem, use safety chain and wedge it. Finally!
So pull ahead and proceed to back up trailer to shop. Truck and trailer have to be at 45 degrees,as i dont have enough room to back it straight in.
Jack knifed. Bumper on car contacted truck and broke my taillight. Doh!
No problem, i have spares.
Pull ahead and try again, nope hit shop opening.
Well this is impossible....
No problem, unload it.
Pull ahead and drag my winch cable out, hook to hole in frame.
Remove wheel chocks and hang ramps on the back.
Its higher in the front and will roll off with winch controlling the descent to terra firma.
No problem, rolling nicely. Until it gets 1/2 way down ramp. Winch cable is bound up and starts pulling car back up. Ok block wheels, slack cable and untangle cable. Try to slack winch cable and its pulling. Release switch and it wont stop. Unplug it, nope still pulling car back up onto trailer and right to front of trailer.
Battery cables smoking and im scrambling to disconnect winch. Thankfully i had gloves on.
Had to cut winch cable to release tension, and finally i just pushed car with one foot out the door and other on brake. Yes, the brakes worked.
No problem.
Wish i had a moral to the story..
Wait, there is- previous owner is deceased. Guy bought it from an estate.
It’s haunted!!
Now how do i appease the spirit that trashed the end of my day, and will there be more??

This is a pretty interesting interview about what it took to make it to the moon.
Alot of it is about the technological challenges.

You've just earned a new nickname.
No Problem!

My grandfather worked for Martin-Marietta back in the day. He was involved in telemetry stuff on Apollo 11. He had a picture on his 'pool table/radio room' of him and Neil Armstrong . Also had a trophy where he and Sam Snead won a pro-am golf tournament. I thought he was kind of a stud.. He was an asshole, but still kind of studly..

Well what ever he was, its still a cool connection to the lunar program. :)

50th Anniversary of Moon landing next month? :D
I was hearing on the radio today the 50th anniversary of Woodstock is not going so well.
Sounded like Watkins Glen will not be the site.

I got a picture of a Stud....But it is in the wall of my house, I built......

My artists eye never rests. I couldn’t stand the gap at the end of the cobblestone flower bed border where it met the new walk so I hunted around in the piles of stone left from the work until I found a filler piece about the right shape and color. Then I replaced the cobble stone next to the gap with one that had a taper more suited to it.

I might be the only one who ever notices it...but it soothes my eye now...

I think my father-in-law knew Snead, or played against him. Recall him mentioning him...

First round with dump trailer. My little 1200 lb tractor handles it not too bad. At least tree is off the front lawn. Will grab my buddy’s saw and give it another go tomorrow. Unless the ghost in the machine kills me first.

@toolmanmike the owners of the dart are in your neck of the woods. Poor guy took on a Camaro and blew a dang head gasket.

It's a 8 hour trip to my house from your pkace

It's a 8 hour drive from your house to mine. You will be ready for a beer and a steak on the grill by then. Dang, I better get busy and fix the bathroom so you have a nice place to shower. :BangHead::lol:
This can be the plan, I can follow you there from your place

Well hope the speed bumps have slowed down for you and your able to get some stuff done for Carlisle.

Hell no. A emergency distributor for a good customer for his other car so that took up most of the day. On a good note the truck runs good it seems though. Started pulling the radio out and of course it started raining. Rain all day today this will suck hate working with doors open in the rain. Uber tomorrow most of the day, OK on Sat but told Ron I will help him and Dave put the vynal top on the Monte, then rain again Sunday!:BangHead:
