Just thought I'd say hi. I recently picked up a 63 dart 2 door sedan from Nevada. I am up in Canada however. It came up here over 15 years ago and was in dry storage ever since.

It is completely rust free and all original including the paint. The only issues are the engine had the intake taken off and the rear window and roof got damaged when the car got away from the transporters from Nevada and it rolled under a semi trailer and the ball hit the roof denting it and breaking the rear glass. The hammer and dollied out the roof pretty good. I just have to locate a rear glass.

I already got the car running and it started really easy. All I had to doo was install the new core plugs (old ones were corroded and already removed), reinstall the starter and the intake and exhaust manifold. Car only shows 65,000 miles and I think it may be original.

Already replaced all the rubber parts in the brakes but the rest was already new (still showing paint), got all the rubber parts for the engine and transmission ordered, new filters and tires. Just today I ordered a new tank as the old one was so filled with varnish and muck I didn't want to deal with it.

I replaced the intake studs and have cleaned and painted the intake and breather since, but am pulling the engine to replace the torque converter seal on the transmission and will be replacing the seals and some gaskets on the engine and clean and paint the engine and engine bay while it is out.

Looking forward to getting this on the road.

VERY NICE! almost like buying the car a few years after it was made it looks so solid. Look forward to you and your adventures.

Nice car! Mine is similar, a time capsule car that's almost completely original. I wonder what's up with those red wheels?? Mine had them too when I got it.

What size tires you got on it? The red steelies
Thanks for all the replies. I am looking at keeping it basic for now so I can drive it all the time. The tires are 215/70/14 rear and 195/70/14 front. Had to go smaller in the front as they would hit the fenders with the 215's. Had the rallies when I bought it but with adapters so I got lucky the day I picked it up stopped by a swap meet and found the steelies with tires on them. I rather the dog dish hubcaps.

Hey bud what's the color code on your dart

Hey bud what's the color code on your dart
Unfortunately the data plate from under the hood was missing when I got the car so unless I come across an option sheet under the seat or something when I pull the seats for upholstery I don't know the color code. It's a baby blue. Car has never been painted.

So not much progress on the Dart. Got all the brakes done. New wheel cylinders, hoses and master (brake lines were solid and all the shoes and spring kits were already new (bonus)). New front bearings and seal. Bought all new hoses for car and filters, including a gasket/seal kit for engine and filter and seal kit for transmission to replace all the dried up seals so I don't have leaks the minute I try to move it. Bought a new gas tank as the original was REALLY crappy inside and sending unit was toast.

Got a replacement back glass and the trim around it as well as the inner roof brace that the previous owner removed/lost.

Also ordered a few trim pieces that were missing or damaged as well as new tail lights (hope to see them by Nov)

Guess it looks like I got a lot done but not really. Mostly gathering up parts. Hoping to pull engine by next month and get the interior pulled and over to upholstery then as well. Then plan to mount the car on my new rotisserie I built to flip it and clean and paint the floors and engine bay ready for fresh engine tranny.

More I pick at it the more I'm liking it. Can't wait to be driving it.

I got bored the other day and decided to see how the paint would recover if I tried a bit of rubbing compound on it and I must say it comes up to a pretty decent shine. Almost makes me want to run the patina look while I get it ready for complete paint job.

Excuse the mess on the car. I kinda shoved everything in when I was heading on vacation and am just now sorting it all out to make room to start. Funny how it gets messier before it looks clean.

Nice. I like the patina on it. If mine had it, I would leave it as is but I bought mine blasted and primed and in a thousand pieces. Worked out though as it needs some rust repair before going back together.

Did a bit on rear quarter... Took rust stains right off.

May fix rear roof and primer it and may match the paint or seal it and run it until I'm ready for exterior paint. Liking it more and more.

These are without wax... Looks even better since I waxed it
