Is a '69 AMX considered a mopar A-body?

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, er, I mean douche bag.

All hail King Richard Petty!!!!!!
The one true King!!!!
This got dark fast. Comparing talents and technology to past generations is futile. The game is different. And so are the tactics. Back in the "Good ole days" the cars were not as even as today. Thus the racing was different. Then you could build for speed or endurance. And nobody could have both. Today? Everything is much closer even. (Although, it will never be 100%.) Finding advantage in the few % is the game. Including driving tactics.

Actually, the difference between the King and Dickheart is vast.

And it has nothing to do with technology. One is champion, the other is cheating Asgard that almost milled people for money.

It s much of that.

Ack to the thread at hand!

Sorry, only complete losers celebrity the death of a foe. Especially from the cheap seats. Petty wasn't dirty? Please. They called him and his outfit the "Pigs" But I certainly would never wish ill will. That's bad karma.

Hopefully we can get back to AMX. I have decided not to pursue. Just too much learning curve, that then equates to time. I hope the '69 does to a AMX lover. They are unique and deserve restoration.

Like you I would have loved to have picked up a few AMC cars I have stumbled onto over the decades, but I felt the learning curve could bit me on the butt!! I have always enjoyed reading about the cars, the history, and their achievements.

Agreed. I certainly hope you didn’t think I was celebrating!!!!!

I heard that same explanation. But it's not that true. True they did use modules made by other manufacturers. But they were their own company. With no affiliations with the big 3. There has even been talk of a revival. (Rumors surface every 10 years or so.) I think there is opportunity for a revival if let's say the go "Green?" In the next 10 years battery technologies will make electric cars far too attractive to ignore. I know these are not the best forums to discuss alternative technology. But electric performance and efficiency is not that easy to ignore.

I didn’t say they were connected with the big three, I said they bought their old stock when one of the big three started using new improved products and no longer used their older products.

Being that AMC was the number 4 auto maker and not very strong, using someone else’s transmission or solenoids smart. It keeps things a bit more inexpensive. Doesn’t do if for the reputation.....
