I see a lot of questions about "passing tech" at a Drag way here on FABO. I thought I'd make a video, hope this helps.

I always fail because of the fuel line mod (too much fuel line)lol. but since the drag strip next to my house, is on its death bed the guys just let me continue through every time.

What about if your flux capacitor is only holding half charge will they still let you race...

Also I think to add possibly people with hubcaps may have to take them off to go on the track?

Also I don't think they like that glass fuel filter that all the parts stores so prodly like to sell...

** I uploaded a new video with a few things that I left out.

The weirdest thing I get every couple of years is the “you need to move or armor the brake line that goes across the firewall” I could understand if it was a stick, but an auto?!

Yeah, that don't make sense to me. Seems every track, or every tech inspection guy has a different take. Must be hard to be a gunslinger (travel'n) racer. IHRA/NHRA writes the rules. So much in between garbage.

Open end lug nuts are required for those slicks. I see you have em just pointing it out for others.

You can run a section of hard brake line over the tube for your oil pressure gauge. It just looks better anyway. I'm not a fan of the coper line as it tends to flex and can fail. I use an electric gauge tho...

No open holes in the fire wall.
Working NSS, auto or manual
Long pants and shoes required.

I think I'll redo the video soon. I didn't even think of clothes, I'm always in jeans and T-shirt. For TnT, our tech guys don't check NSS. I might have missed too much.

** New video uploaded

I'd have to check the book on the drag radials. I run open lugs on my dot radials beacuse I think most tracks see them as slicks.

The funny thing is i dont track my car but I do build and work on race cars so I try to stay up on the rules.

My buddy showed up at TnT in shorts and the tech guy was a tow truck driver. He let my buddy wear his extra pants for the night....

Are you sure there is going to BE a guy in the next lane????? :realcrazy:
He will get there, when he gets there. it's for fun. not even a grudge match. lol
Btw I really like your duster. nice and clean and not over the top.
Perfect street/ strip presentation.

outlaw tracks dont have tech, just bring, your tech card to tower and give it to them,i race at a outlaw track, where safety is not a concern

I still need to get replace the Mountain Dew can with a legit catch can and replace the plastic line on my oil line. I had one break once on the inside of the car and it made a mess, I can only imagine what it would do shooting oil all over the firewall.

And factory location----------

Never could understand how long pants ( unless they are Nomex ). are going to help if youcrash and catch fire .

Thanks for a great thread 318, and man o man it can sure be subjective on rule enforcement. Ours is open lugs and they like width of nut exposed thread. Also on drive shaft loop it has to be within X inches of coupling. I think 6 but I may be lieing? I just don't remember, all I know is mine passes! And while your factory seat belts are perfectly acceptable, if you have changed them to harness style you have to comply to the two year nonsense. I understand that on the 11.5 and under but don't understand it on the 11.5 and up. Some inspectors do some don't on harness MGG date.
