GREAT dragstrip.Super nice facility. I went there a couple of times like 25 yrs ago, and they still send me their annual schedule.

I'm hoping to be there. I'm still recovering from some minor surgery, so we'll see how I am feeling. So far it looks like the weather is going to be very nice.

I’ll be there for sure in my primer red 65 Dart hopefully around 9am. Be nice to find a complete 4 spd setup for it there. Dustin

^^^the paint of this car was crazy phenomenal. Absolutely loved the red tinted windows and such. Could have easily took Best in Show at the car show but he was racing...
We spent the night in our RV the night before so that morning I'm standing in drinking coffee and browsing some of the early morning swap meet booths and seeing people come in and I kept seeing really cool cars come in that look like they would be a lot of fun on the dragstrip and all of a sudden they would turn into the car show...:BangHead:

I wish I would have took a picture of this guy's shifters. He had the four arms that you individually pull for shifting. He was dialed in at a 10500 and was hitting that number very close. Raced him once in the qualifying and all I seen was taillights LOL I was going to get taken out by him in the first round but luckily they pulled the best reaction time aside and I got paired up with the person that I beat, treed I should say LOL

I only got a few pictures since I brought my good camera out with the big lens. I actually enjoyed seeing the gal in the blue Desoto Fireflite race. Something about the big beast turning low 14's was cool to me for some reason. Anyway, I took a picture of Challenger just for personal reference on the stance as I build mine. Then a couple of pics of members running down the track.

I talked to the guy in the green Dart and his brother. I see them there almost every year. They come from way up in Washington. He was doing 9 second that day but said he was doing 8 the day before I believe..
Got a picture of a time slip of that last picture, I spun my tires but stayed in it...

The green car I believe belongs to FABO member nwdart. If recall correctly, it may have been his best time with the car since putting on the new TF heads. I would have liked to met with some of the members here, but it's kind of strange walking up to someone you have never met and say, "Hey, I'm the guy from the internet." Anyway, I enjoyed watching everyone run. Maybe nwdart can fill us in on his times. @nwdart

Seemed like a great turnout at woodburn this year. Had a great time, I agree with DrEamer it is difficult meet guys off internet I usually only recognize cars not the owners. Dustin

Here are a few more photos, including one of the Desoto leaving the line. Some cool cars there, and not just the really expensive ones that are all dolled up.

A cool old boat of a Desoto.

Sigh...I had one of these back in the day. Not this nice, but I'm still looking for another one - either a 67 or a 69.

Nice Daytona, I'd like to take it for just one lap around a track.

My car wasn't up to entering the races due to brakes in the mediocre-at-best department, but I did put it in the show. Much to my surprise I came home with this! :D

Here are some photos of some of the Darts that I saw there. I know there were more, but unfortunately, I did not get photos of them all or of all the Valiants there.
I was still recovering from some minor surgery and was only there for about three hours or so, otherwise I would have put my '63 Dart in the show (as under construction) and my wife would have been racing her Avenger. Next year!

Nice pics Soren, my 65 primer red on top. I’ve owned that car 18yrs and that was it’s first trip on I5 with me, did great need to drive it more. Dustin

One thing I forgot about because I haven't been in a couple years is when your racing and coming back on the return lane at Woodburn it's in front of the right lane grandstands. Also on that side in the feild before the bleachers along the fence line people are picnicking. Since it's a enthusiastic Mopar crowd a lot of people are cheering at you on the return lane. You wave back and it gives a person a good feeling for how much work went in to the car...
I'm caught off guard by it the first couple passes because it's not the norm...

I thought that was your car. We ended up parking a few rows down, and saw it on our walk in. Looked like a neat little ride!

Best the dart ran was a 9.800 in the morning before the heat set in. Running at mission BC Canada next weekend looking for the elusive 9.79 out of my little 340. Was fun seeing a lot of guys you only see once a year as if you saw them yesterday good times had by all.
