I am mildly interested in the look of a Go Wing for my 68 Barracuda. I mocked one up and am leaning towards "no way" however if I change my mind I'm looking for info on mounting types. I heard there are Go Wings designed to mount directly to the deck lid surface (this would be my case as there are no underside cut outs), and also the typical type designed to mount to cars built with the under deck lid cut outs.

Quartering-to angles I think the wing looks good. Side view angles not so much. I'm surprised I'm not in love right away since I thought the long deck lid could use a friend.

Anyway, let me know what you think

The body lines flow nice as it is, pleasing to the eyes.

The wing looks like 'ricer-wanna-be'.

As a go wing owner....I dont think it looks great on much besides the swinger , and e bodies.
It's a love / hate thing. I'm not offended by those that dont care for mine. I vote no on the A body cuda

No go! Never saw a Barracuda with wings. No if you want to add gills or a dorsal fin I'm in:lol:

I think you got a good looking Notch going on there.
No Go for me

I have a mild interest in a wing also, but just can't do it.
Those are for other people's cars.

I really like wings on cars that they were offered on but would say no to yours. To clean without it.

Okay for later A and E bodies, but that sticks out like a turd in a punch bowl on the early A.

What you like only matters to you, do what looks good to you and enjoy!

On a fastback yes I like the factory ones.
On a notchie, not so much.
But on your notch with those bigwheels, maybe a lil more rear altitude, and the factory wing would give her some attitude.
I put those Swinger Foils on everything, lol.

Winged Muscle cars were around long before ricers. Those early wings had class.... unlike most of the atrocious tuner crap.

Im not a fan of the go wing, they always look out of place. To me they look like they came off a mustang and just got bolted on a MOPAR.

My dart dose have a large wing but its an aluminum pro stock wing. I like it but im sure others do not. Its your car do what you want.

I think you are on to what I was thinking:with the stance and wheel/tire combo I have , maybe this Notch could pull off wearing a wing. The pic actually belies the actual rake the car has which I am fond of, even with a 2.25"( mocked in cardboard and body color) rear lip drop, the rear fender is still an inch or so higher than the front fender lip. I'm 55 and the first wing I ever saw was on a Muscle Car, so I identify wing with muscle car, certainly not a tuner. That being said, the wing is a No Go for me as well. Need to figure out how to mock up a ShAkEr hood next lol

I8Nemo,

Do your thing man. I think your ride looks great, and would still look great with the wing. Being different is not a bad thing. Opinions are like belly buttons.

Be well,
Pat

I had a 71 340 4sp Demon with dual scoops , racing mirriors and the wing. That car looked awesome !
My first car with scoops. It was so cool looking or them while driving !

You may have something there. I'll bet a Shaker hood would look great.

Thanks Pat, I think the factory color helps set the wing up for failure. It's possible that after paint (see pics) the flavor of a wing may fit. Paint scheme was done on a PC/mouse, it sucks but you get the picture
