I've got an LD4B that is surplus to my needs and I want to list it for sale but I need to know how much it will cost to ship. I don't have a scale to get the weight for an online quote. Can someone who's shipped a standard small block aluminum intake give me an accurate weight for them. I realize the box will add a couple pounds.

mine was right around 15 pounds shipped

The last one I sent was $35 or so. Fed Ex

I don't think it will fit in a large USPS Flat Rate box.
Large Box 12-1/4" x 12-1/4" x 6" or 24-1/16" x 11-7/8" x 3-1/8" LargeFlatRateBox $17.60

It really depends on what carrier, where its going to from your location, size and weight. Your best bet is use one one of the carriers quote tools. Shipping across borders has issues too. Are you just looking to pad the price and include shipping in the sale?

They fit in that game box flat rate USPS but the box bulges. Never had an issue mailing one that way.

The last 2 I shipped from Michigan, one to the Carolina's and one to California via USPS was around 55 bucks.

I wasn't driving 40 miles round trip to do UPS or FED EX.

Just a word of advice if using that game box - use heavy duty reinforced tape and tape it every way horizontally and vertically all the way around. If you don’t, it seems USPS don’t handle them too well. I sent a 66 cast iron 4 barrel to Leanna securely taped like that and still USPS managed to tear the box at one end. Luckily the loose fasteners that were in a ziplock bag made it without coming out. Disclaimer; Your experience may vary!

Depends where its going and what size box; I just got a quote from FedEx today to ship a 23x17x12 17lb box from OR to MD was $83, and yes she said that with a straight face.

Sent an air-gap from Carolina to Michigan today..usps..2day priority..$32

If ur sending usps it pays to go to a couple different post offices as it can vary a fair bit. I know it shouldn’t but it does. Same up here in Canada. As long as both places are fairly close. It costs me around $75.00 to ship 1 to the states. About $60.00 usd. Kim

USPS flat rate...remove studs and Itll fit, and tape it up good. LD4B is no high rise. Bulging boxes dont matter.

Late to the party as usual, but keep in mind any insurance claim that might result from a badly packed box is not going to get paid. Regulations for all shippers (including the USPS) mandate that the item(s) being shipped must have at least 3" of collapsible materials on all sides in order to be covered by the insurance.

At no extra cost, Priority Mail includes $50 of insurance and UPS includes $100, but FedEx does not include any unless you pay for it.

Well if that’s the case, over 90% would never qualify so their actually scamming the customer. To be able to insure it the package is that much bigger and a little heavier so they got u there also. Are those regulations on their site? I’ll have to check up here. Kim

Exactly Kim! I don't think any of their Flat Rate Boxes are big enough to qualify for their own insurance unless all you're sending is a coin or something. They're also made from really crappy cardboard that never fails to arrive damaged.

I have had times when USPS counter staff do not accept flat rate packages if they are at all distorted past their dimensions.

I have gone to one and it is rejected, gone right over to another, and it is accepted. They are not obligated to take it if content does not “fit”, is what I was told. Your experience will vary depending on personalities.

When it comes to claims, I am sure they will be on the stingy side.

Wow , I never knew that . I found the shipping rates so hi anyway, I almost cant sell or buy anything anymore .
Have a lot of stuff just sitting in the garage I need to get outta there too---------

Use a similar intake, sold new, to get an idea as to how much your intake weighs:

Weiand 8007: Action +Plus Intake Manifold Chrysler | JEGS

Shipping prices vary depending on size of box, type of service and company providing the service. Shipping is going to be your largest variable.

Only way to know for sure is once you get a quote yourself and it’s time to actually ship it with the known destination.

You can get a free shipping quote from all of them. You will need the weight and all box dimensions first, and can add an appropriate amount of insurance if your buyer wishes it. Keep in mind though that sometimes the estimate is very different than the actual cost (especially through FedEx for some reason).
