Poor bastards.
Hope it cools off before long so I can start going down for the car shows again.
When I go I make a day of it since it's 85-90 miles from where I am, but I go to the Pavillions show first and then in the afternoon drive to the other side of the valley to the 67th and Bell Rd. show until 8-9pm. (lots of Mopars at this one)
I love driving the Dart (especially at night) so by the time I get back home around 10-11pm it's close to 200 miles round trip.

At the 67th and Bell Rd. show there is the Mixteca Mexican food place right there in the same lot and the food is really good after a day of car shows.

A couple of random video's of both shows that happen every weekend.

75 degrees in MN 52% humidity. caught a nice bass from the river 1 mile from work on my lunch break.

Just another day in the Valley of the Sun. I'll take 115* and 10% any day over 85* and 85% over in the swamp. Don't see how people can live on the east side of the country.
95* and 10% here. Haven't even started to sweat.

Wimps... 119 and it was 127 inside my garage yesterday! I got stuff to do, just not in those temps. Stuff has to wait until saturday when the temps are down 10+ degrees.

The Wife and I are considering a move to Tennessee when I retire. Next summer we are going to visit to assess the weather.
I have lived in CA most of my life but with the equity in our place, we can live like royalty in Tennessee.

You better get ready for some humidity there too. Weve had a cooler than normal summer , was 95 yesterday , dont know how high the humidity was, but I got soaking wet riding my lawn tractor, and couldn`t dry off-------------

Mid to upper 70s at 80% humidity all week. Pacific Northwest for the win. :) But I sure do remember those 113 days living in Nevada. Walking into an oven.

But screw the east coast summers. That was miserable.

83 here today, 66% humidity. Man, is that perfect? Come to So. Cal, Make the same money here but pay $2700/mo rent or buy at >$500 per square foot of 1300 sq/ft house... :realcrazy:

I've been in 117* heat in the desert and by far the worst heat I've been in was at Carlisle PA a few years back. Was a record 102* and around 85%. I never sweated so much in my life. Went through 4 tee shirts and 4 gal of water that day. The worst part was when I was sweating while taking a cold shower that night. WTF? Sweating in the shower, really? Whats the point?
And then every morning everything is wet from the due. Everyday... wet. No wounder it's the rust belt. Not just from the salt but everything being wet everyday. Only way to stay dry is to stand in front of the ac. Sorry just not for me. Beautiful country and great people just to much wet.

See this block? It has been bare , unprotected in my shop with a swamp cooler for almost 20 years and not even some rust flashing on it Won't see that happen east of KC.

It's been a cool summer here in the N end of Idaho. It's supposed to warm up some, but at the moment, 1:45, just finishing lunch and watching Gunsmoke. It's 75 degrees.

I heard a flash flood in Phoenix is just a 20mph breeze down a dry creek bed.

Years ago the Accounting Mgr at my work was getting ready to retire and told me one Monday morning that she and her husband had just bought some land in Sedona and the property had a "seasonal creek".
I chuckled and told her that a "seasonal creek" in Arizona is a flash flood!

And one of the most expensive.
Did you know Scottsdale used to be the cheap properties on the outskirts of town?[/QUOTE]
Understand, but my wife moved to snowy, cold, high tax NY when we got married and she gets to choose the retirement destination.... and she just loves Scottsdale.

How about 98 and 100% humidity / makes that b113 feel like spring. Worked outside when I lived in Cal. , was 118 a few times , sun is hot , but not near as uncomfortable as the humidity !!.
