I have a 70 Dart with Dr. Diff front disc kit 5X4.5 (Small ball joints adapters) and 8 3/4 5X4.5 Axles, with Dr. Diff rear disc kit, The springs are in stock location.

I am looking at these wheels. They are 17X8 with a 5.25" backspace. That is the only backspace they offer for that wheel style. Will that backspace clear the front and rear?

I got this from another thread. I think I'm good, just wanted to be sure.

If I have to, it wouldn't bother me. I am doing an electric power steering with a 16:1 box, so the widest I can go in front would be ideal.
make a thread for that if you would please. that's my current plan too

@72bluNblu What say you? :poke:.

Also, so you have the full picture. I am running PST 1.03 bars, Bilstein shocks, stock upper control arms with Moog offset bushings and ESPO 6 leaf HD springs at stock height.

cool, other than the A-arms, i have the same setup

I'm not a fan of big wheels on these older girls, but those look pretty good.

I hope you keep this thread up to date as you learn. I am looking at something very similar for my Duster.

Absolutely. I've read a ton of threads, mainly the Mustang Wheel Thread and those are 5.72 backspace and folks are using those with spacers, so my 5.25 backspace should be fine, I just want to be sure before I order.

Also, I found this quote on another thread.

I heard back from 72blunblu and I'm going with the 17X8 with 5.25" backspace and a 245/45/17 all around. I'll update my thread when the wheels and tires are mounted.

Keep in mind, this is for a 70 Dart, which is Narrower in the rear, bit taller in the front than your duster, so your specs will be different. If you do a search for 17X8 or 18X8 and put 72blunblu as the poster, you'll find your answer.

There is a ton of threads specific to dusters.[/QUOTE]
