My intent is to put the interior of my 66 GT back close to stock. I've got a lot of wiring and holes in the dash to correct. I am curious about interior colors and where they were applied.

From what I've been able to tell via the body tag, my car had white interior. The original body color was mauve poly with a black top.

I've searched photos and seen a few combinations of interior colors - I found one with white seats and door panels, but black dash, carpet, tops/bottoms of doors and trim.

I found another with white seats/door panels, and tanish dash, carpet, tops/bottoms of doors, trim. I was able to confirm that this car had a matching exterior color, a brown/bronze.

Is there a right answer? Would the dash and doors have been painted mauve with white door panels on my car? What would the correct carpet color be (hopefully not mauve also, lol)?

Thanks!

I can’t answer your question but it is a good one.
I’m more familiar with ‘66 Valiants and there is a turquoise and also a light blue that are close in color but the dash in each case was different.
The turquoise had a turquoise dash pad and both upper and lower surfaces were the same color along with everything on the doors. The light blue interior had a dark blue dash.

This is the light blue

Take a picture of your fender tag. The interior colors are there.

Here is the tag, I looked it up a month or so ago and I believe I recall white interior. I'm just curious what exactly would have been white and what color the upper/Lower doors and dash, carpet, etc would have been.

I’m sorry I can’t help.
It’s a good question.
The best advise is to look for original examples.
I know the ‘66 Valiant color combos are confusing

This car is interesting but it looks like the seat covers have been changed but it has white seat covers & vinyl door covers with everything else black.

That's interesting! Looks very similar to mine right now, promising! The description says the exterior was originally mauve poly but it's been repainted white, exactly like mine too.

I am a big fan of Mauve. Wish mine was.

Excellent work, thank you for sharing! My rot is pretty similar to yours. I've got some holes in the floor boards that I'll have to address, too.
At least they have patch panels for those. I wish someone would make trunk drops. I got a pair from Desert Valley Auto Parts. They weren't perfectly rust free but they were usable. Here's some floor patches. DODGE CARS - DART - 1963-1966 - Auto Body Specialties

That's a vendor I hadn't run across yet, they've got quite a bit of repro selection. Is there a verdict on how close the quarters fit?
I got mine from Laysons but I bet they are the same Auto Body Spec. has. They fit real good. The body shop was impressed.

Thank you, Mike. That's really helpful. Kind of glad the top wasn't vinyl originally.

On the early A forum on FABO you could request pictures of original white interiors.
Maybe someone can help with an example.
