Hellcat Rebel the ford Raptor don’t stand a chance

-
I agree but from a marketing standpoint trucks sell! Especially around here everyone buys a truck so I understand why they are doing it. Those Raptors are everywhere nowadays. It blows my mind how people will pay so much for a truck but they do so I dont blame them. That's just like these stupid diesel trucks people pay ridiculous amounts for that dont need them they just buy them because they are cool and in trend! I know a guy at work that just bought a 2006 dodge 3500 dulley with 200k miles and beat all to piss. The fender door and bed extension on the passenger is smashed. And he paid 24k for it. That is stupid! I told him he was stupid haha. The kicker is he doesnt pull anything he doenst have a camper a horse trailer a boat a farm nothing he just bought it because it's considered cool. I think it's a stupid was of money. In 5 years by the time its paid off he will have paid 33k for it and its gonna be completely worn out.

Trucks have SAVED the Ram division simply because Chrysler hasn't built a good CAR in 30 years. They went 27 YEARS without a V8 rear wheel drive CAR. When you do that, you lose ground in the marketplace that's unrecoverable. It didn't hurt Ford as bad when they stopped Mustang production. Oh wait, they DIDN'T. No wonder Ford's still in decent shape. Yall can ***** about how ugly Ford stuff is all you want....and they are, but Ford still OWNS Ford. Then, Chrysler FUCKED UP when they FINALLY came back out with a V8 car and made the ONLY OPTION a 4 door UGLY *** WAGON that only a small segment of society liked. Then they KEPT MAKIN it. Even EVOLVED it into a car that was NEVER OFFERED as a four door to begin with. EVER. I know somebody's gonna say I got eleventeen hundred million billion zillion miles on my Magnum and I love it. SHUT UP cause you don't count. Then, Chrysler started makin hot rod trucks. The government (us taxpayers) couldn't save them........TWICE, Daimler all but destroyed them, now FIAT of all companies owns "WHAT'S LEFT" and IT AIN'T MUCH. And you're right, a LOT.......and I mean A LOT of these diesel truck guys are FARKIN STUPID. They don't pull anything. They NEVER engage the transfer case. But they know how to chip their trucks up to blow black smoke everywhere. Those trucks don't smoke like that stock. Not like THAT. But you know what? THAT RIGHT THERE are the buyers Chrysler wants. The stupid ones. And they are out there in droves. Chrysler should have ceased to exist completely 25 years ago. It would have stopped this ridiculous embarrassing prolonged death.

Whatever rusty. I have an srt8 “ugly *** wagon” and i love it.

I will shut up now since I don’t count.

Love the wagon !
Hate the Charger
Rusty is soooo right about the deisel truck yahoos !

How fast does one really need to go to get home with a toilet from Home Depot?

Nix on a "new" Road Runner named car.
It would probably be an abomination and certainly a name fail.
(Not unlike "Hellcat" on that second point.)
Concept fine.
Recycling names, not so good.
Let the hallowed name of Plymouth Road Runner rest in peace.

My theory was "if they did it right" which they never will. I'd have no problem with the name resurrection. As long as they did the car right. But they won't.

And yall don't take my rant wrong. This new truck is cool. I like it........it's just that it's "another damned truck"......AGAIN! Does that make sense?

Your right about everything but all that has changed now they have plenty of v8 options and performance options imo fiat had done a phenomenal job. You can a get the challenger which is a sweet looking car regardless of its retro design it's a good looking ride and you can get it in a v6 v8 bigger v8 and a supercharged v8 same with the charger (yes I hate the name too) it's a beautiful car and I really like them but it shouldn't be named the same! You have plenty of options to choose from the same with their SUVs and now trucks I personally think it's good marketing. I tell you what I hated and still hate I throw up in my mouth when I see one those stupid 2003 2004 Daytona trucks with a wing on it come on now wtf was that Daimler??

The Jeeps, trucks, and minivans have always carried Chrysler....

When I was at Jeep Truck, my boss used to rub it into the guys at CTC and tell them that we worked in the "profit center"....

Definitely a good looking truck. Like a lot here, I’m just not really into the 4X4 and big truck scene. I do however daily an 05 Ram SRT10 and while it is most certainly one of the most pointless creations ever, it has given me lots of joy and smiles over the years! As for hauling toilets, I can bring one home at a little over 150mph if I wanted too! Lol

No shortage of "Redneck, jacked-up, giant-tired, black smoke belching noisy diesel truck driving doofus idiots around here. I laugh out loud at the ones with the tires sticking out a foot from the side of the body, especially in the rain when they can't see a damn thing for all of the spray coming back around them.

Maybe , but you might retract that when one blows ur doors off.
I built a 92 gmc w/ approx. 600 ? h.p. , fooled the heck out of a lot of people, waxed a 502 chevy crate motor, and got 16.1 on the hi way if I drove it sensably, checked it twice .
Was fairly cheap to build----
I have no doubts about the performance, Bob. Just my personal opinion since I’m not a “truck guy”. I’d rather have that motor in a ‘Cuda or Challenger.

Yeah....Nothing worth a damn from Chrysler in years...

The Wife sure likes our 2015 R/T though. Unless you have owned or driven one, you might not know what there is to like.

I have driven a few if them, and there is a lot to like, performance, comfort, even fuel economy is reasonable, just can't afford to own one. Had an '05 Magnum R/T a couple years ago, comfortable, good fuel economy, lots of room for my dogs, too bad it was falling apart at 100k miles, dumped it when it became a bottomless money pit, at a substantial loss $ after a year of ownership.

Fiat is the best thing that could’ve happened to Dodge!

I agree, because otherwise, they might have disappeared. At least all but the trucks and Jeeps.

Yeah the trucks and Jeeps would’ve lived on as their own brands probably but the everything else would’ve been axed, which would’ve been a same seeing how Dodge has raised the bar for muscle cars in the past 5 years. Much like the hp wars of the 60s-70s, today hp wars will eventually come to an end as well, we better enjoy them while they’re here, wether it’s badass muscle cars or badass trucks.

It is a nice truck. But, lets face it. Truck's, all of them are so profitable now a day's and that's why they are
so overpriced. I wouldn't buy one. And most of the population won't be able to afford one anyhow.

And everybody seems to have a "need" for a truck or SUV/CUV, whatever the hell they're called. Most of them never see anything more challenging than a speed bump at the shopping mall. It's all in the marketing, the manufacturers are more than happy to rake in the profits.

Amazes me when I drive through some of the newer residential development areas of town, all the big new cookie cutter homes, and in the driveways are more often than not there's a new or nearly new truck parked beside a new or nearly new SUV, and a camper of some sort and or a big boat. I don't get how the hell young families can afford the lifestyle, I sure as hell can't, and I make a decent living.
