while other year floor pans will work, 66 dart is one year only design. if you find extra floor pans, I need a full floor as well.

Hi Roy,

From the ABS web site

Nope. 66 has some "one year only" pieces like most years but the chassis and floor pans are universal between 63 and 66. Many of the body patch panels are the same for those years in the Dart line. Valiant is different.

not that I want an argument with you Mike, but the strengthening ribs in the 66 floor pan are different than the ribs in the repops. you can see this in Roy's picture and he has one solid side that if he took a picture of it you could really compare and tell. mine are totally rusted and I destroyed just enough of them where I would not be able to show you the difference. I believe the 63-65 are like the repops.

I have also talked to guys that used a 67-69 full repop pan to replace their rusted 66 pan. those conversations with pictures of their work is posted in the 66 dart owners thread.

maybe you can tell the difference from one of my pictures,

from my totally twinged dart. it is sitting level on the ground.

If by chance the Auto Body Specialties pans are slightly different for the 66's here's a fellow member that installed them with good results. See post #8. 66 dart floor pans

the floor pan is original, it was painted during its racing years. the floor just rotted out from a leaky windshield, the whole body is twinged. it sat quite a while after it was last raced. the guy was drag racing it with a 500+hp W2 motor yanking the skinnies with a 4.56 spool. it eventually blew off the drivers side frame connector which was not welded real well due in part that it had fenderwell headers and lacked structural bracing to make up for the lack of rigidity in the fender aprons with the holes cut in them for the headers.

you are right aftermarket repop floor pans will work, but they are not quite the same as stock ones. you have to remember this year dart was the lighter designed version of the same looking car of previous years.

eventually I will have to relent and weld in what is available if I cannot find a 66 dart parts car with good floors, like next summer. I have been looking for at least 5 years now and they are like finding hens teeth.

Here's some specs you might find interesting:

Curb weight for Dodge Dart GT's:
1963 2730#
1964 2778#
1965 2844#
1966 2866#

In 1967 they were heavier.
