On my 64 Valiant 2 door sedan, how do I tell which side tail light is which? I'm not sure they are on the correct sides and I think they are different somehow. Thank you drive through.

switch them and see if they fit better, although there may not be any difference. just don't mix them up when you do it because you may have to switch them again if you forget which was which

If you look at the bottom you can see a difference. I believe they are on correctly. I'm just not 100% sure. I may swap them and see. Thanks.

Check the Red lenses and see if there is an L or an R in the cast plastic numbers.

Yes they are different.
Left and Right tail lights are different. Take a look at the chrome peak at the top of the chrome tail light castings. The chrome ramps on either side of the peaks are different lengths, one longer one shorter. Also the chrome peaks are slightly off center for left and right.
Right now they look like they are "Toed Out" at the tops, so yes look like they are installed opposite of what they should be left for right and right for left.
Looked them up on ebay too, they sell left and right specific tail lights for the 64s.

They look like they're on the wrong sides. If you look how it lines up with the body line on the inboard side, it looks like the body line widens. As George Jet pointed out, the top toes out.
Swap them around and post the pictures from the same angle. It'd be easier to judge.

First Install on 64 ValiantTail Lights, RRR.
Even on right and odd on left means they were correct. They will not fit otherwise.
Also look at the angle of the lower chrome ramps left and right of each tip at the bumper. Looks like one of those angles is sharper to go with the bumper turning the corner. You may have had them installed right to begin with by the looks of that.
Also if the mounting holes in the body are like 3/8" that may give you some room to slop them around a bit and get them to line up with the body lines better, more centered between the body lines.
I will leave the driver's side one out this time, as I need another housing. This one has a couple of the studs broken off and tried as I might, they will NOT come out. So I need s fairly decent one. It will need a little pitting to match the passenger's side. lol Anybody got anything?
