Factory colors in spray can...

-
I used the auto parts store spray paint as a base, then used the Mopar stuff as a top coat. The Mopar engine paint is notoriously thin.

i went to the local paint supply house and had them mix the color i wanted and put it in spray cans. for what i needed i used a single stage. they put a hardener in it . you break the blatter for the hardener, shake well and spray. it worked and held up great. they can also do base coat clear coat..

Painted my engine compartment with auto paint supply mix same as Ted and Joe. You can control the spray fan by twisting the nozzle. Very happy with the results. Would also use in trunk, underside of hood and trunk or door jams but not on body.....but you could I guess.

I use the spray max brand for work in a gloss black. I’ve never used a better spray paint. Use it for painting hydraulic tubes it’s pricey but well worth it.

Here's the paint for the steering and the torsion bars. It's Rust-Oleum Engine Enamel. The color is Cast Coat Aluminum.
I hopes that it helps. Ted

You specify base/clear and they will give you a spray can of clear to go with the base.

Thanks. I deleted my question because I saw yours above (sorry I don't know much about auto paint) but makes sense you'd need a spray can of clear to top coat the base spray can paint.
