I skipped the last few posts .
Why not pay the diff. and buy a complete engine from them, carb and all , tuned and set up by them/ No bullsh-- about whose fault then , which sounds like yours to start with.
The shipping back and forth probly has already surpassed the cost of them tuning it carb to oil pan , =total drop in !.

If Blueprint repairs it and makes everything as it should be it would be a drop in IMO..... I like a deal and that's my offer. I don't expect the OP to take much interest in it but you never know...

I personally believe this is a luck of the draw situation....

Wasn't he furnishing his own carb. and stuff ??

Probably has a fkd up late 90's distributor ..the batch that were out of phase and would fire 2 at once just over 4500 rpm or so.
Boy did they destroy engines, scuffed knocking pistons was #1 symptom.
Add a bad needle and seat , shitty operator and a lil karma.... bam, shittsville here we come!

Or a new parts store fuel pump that puts out 10+ pounds of pressure. Had us scratching our heads on that one.

using an edelbrock air gap manifold, 750 edelbrock carb, stock jets and metering rods. MP electronic distributor( the one mallory made) purchased in 2011 or so. msd ignition. Carter fuel mechanical fuel pump. Dougs d450's, 355 8/34 10.5 inch clutch. 22" 3 core radiator. MSD coil.

I hope it is too, but I am thinking of just building my own motor now and scrapping the blueprint. I will contact you once I have made a decision if I am going to ditch the BP motor.

Perfect and we will take our conversation away from the thread.

Thanks,

I personally dont think there was any Ill will or intent to bash blueprint. Simple frustration and not being able to resolve issues, whether self induced or not.

Really guys? I go run some errands and the place blows up. This thread is closed!

Final update for this thread. Oil pan removed oil filter opened up. Some sort of goo was restricting oil flow in the oil filter. Opened up a new filter and it had the same goo in it. I mistakenly used a fram high mileage filter vs an extra guard filter. I have both in my garage and did not realize I grabbed the wrong one. The high mileage has some time release additives . However in the filter I used all the time release additives released at the same time causing a restriction in the oil filter blocking oil from entering the block. I have already contacted fram to see if they will cover it or not. I took off the front two rod bearing caps and both bearings were scarred deeply. the crank had very light scaring so the crank can be saved.

This is good to know. Didn't realize the Fram High mileage filter had gunk in it from the start... strange. Not the first casualty of a bad fram filter :(

I just want to say thank you for publicly stating that this was not a BluePrint issue, and it was in fact this "mystery goo" from the filter blocking the oil flow, showing notable pressure drops, and oil starvation. I mean that in all seriousness. Take a big man to step up and clarify this for the public. As i stated in my message, i see we have some bearings coming. Anything else we can do let me know.
