Stop in for a cup of coffee

Now those are some tall ceilings. I am noticing things like that now that I am in the middle of gutting and remodeling an old house.

I raised my ceilings to 9 foot but I think those are taller. Wow
I think 10. Pretty normal here

There is also a lot of detail in the ceilings

Do you have a fixed gas line like in the USA or is there a little propane tank in the cabinet under the range like everywhere I have seen in Asia??

Central America is the same way, bottle under the cabinet or at the end of the counter, and refills can come on the back of a 2 stroke motorcycle or moped in a special 2 bottle rack.

hows that fire going?

California wildfires: Newsom issues proclamation, Kincade fire may have been sparked by transmission line

Wow, so they didn't shut down a line and boom, fire. Wanna bet that now they just shut off ALL lines the next go around

Looks like they have been fortunate in the wind department up there so far, at least down in the valley there. Looks like good weather for those daredevils in the borate bombers to have fun.

Well, here is what happened. According to the media. The power company shut down high voltage lines but not those with the highest voltage. The reason is that the lines with highest voltage has more clearance to trees, so they are rated for higher wind speeds and therefor with the weather forecast we got they did not have to shut them off. They are also feeding a wider area so they for that reason also wanted them on.

Then, at 9:20 pm the night the fire started, it was northern winds, and the fire started north of us, so it would be pushed down here. Anyway, at that time the power company got an indication, the media did not say how, but I assume it was an indication on their instruments at the power plant that said something was wrong in a high voltage power mast of those who were still on. And this was not caused by the wind or trees or branches, but some kind of mechanical fault. They don't know if this caused a spark or not. But, 6 minutes later, at 9:26 a fire close by was reported, and the rest is history.

A bit later in the evening the wind changed to ENE, East North East, and blowing towards the coast. So, it was favorable for us here in Santa Rosa, but not for the little town Geyserville. Therefor we did not have any smoke or any problems, the smoke was blown towards the pacific ocean, and was laying like a wall in north.

This morning it was still fine, but when my wife drove to work, and she looked towards the sun and east, the sun was totally red. She knew what that meant, and 3 hours later we were surrounded by the smoke. It is a bit better again now in the evening.

The fire crews has not had much headway today, so it has been able to grow to 24,000 acres, from 21,900 in the morning. Tomorrow it is supposed to be very high winds again, and on Sunday up to a record of 80 mph in the gusts.
The wind direction when the wind will reach it's strongest would be NNE, North North East. Which is a bad direction for us.

I lived in Honduras for 3 months, spent 2 years sailing out of Tampico Mexico and lived in Guatemala for 5 years. My wife is from Guatemala and my boys were born there.

I wondered when you said the boys are bilingual.
So I assume you know Spanish pretty good

I'm fluent. Still some words I dont know but I love the language. I use it everyday and not just with my family.

I wish I knew Spanish. It's on my bucket list to learn and there is a lot of material out there.

I went to San Antonio, Tx a few years ago and people were talking Spanish to me but I didn't know what it means....... since then I have been interested in learning it.

Where theres a will theres a way. May have to fab up some stuff or not. You never know. Could be a little patience and time is all that is needed. ( im not very patient so...)

There is always a slant six eager to be placed too.

My whole problem here is too many options.
I can always just leave it in the car.

I wanted to 4 speed the car either way so I need to find out what kind of bellhousing works.

Bottom line, I need to do a lot of research on this motor still.
