5.7 hemi exhaust

-
Yes, but, with some work. Bosses are present on the heads, some holes need to be drilled and tapped. Not a big thing.

So I need mid headers or do they make a shorty? The motor i have does not have any exhaust. Trying not to waste money if zi can with trile and error.

I'll grab a pic in the morning. I have a 5.7 in the shop that has shorties. I'm guessing they're LX car stuff.

Thank you.... Wife already twisted up with this build....I just do not need to do things twice and your help is greatly appreciated.

Here you go. This is a 2006 engine. The tubes really neck down at the port. Probably not an issue with turbos. This engine is destined for a 69 Charger. These will not work with factory inner fenders and steering.

As said before, would require drilling and tapping. The exhaust bolt pattern isn't"mirrored", I guess you could say.

I have made the necessary provisions for when I turbo mine. Only did the pass side and will make a log and tie the drivers side in. It’s easy to do.

Ahh that gives me a good understanding. I will have twin 76mm to start with then work my way up. The bottom end on my motor is all forged with a 6.1 crank, h beam rods and forged 9.6 to 1 pistons. Should be around 20lbs of boost to start off with and work my way up from there.

That’s gonna be a ride for sure!
I’m gonna keep the truck low 4-6psi just for the noise and fun factor. The duster can’t make more than 8psi and it’s spinnig at highway speeds, scary and fun! Keep us posted.

I remember with the 5.7 that you could accidentally bolt the heads on the wrong side, and not notice untill the exhaust manifolds wouldn't bolt on. Could you swap the heads on purpose so the exhaust was flipped around?

Well this car is back halfed with 14X32 under it.. Wouldn't the only problem be with swapping the heads is te location of the intake valve vs exhaust valve and that could be fixed with the valve reliefs?

The only difference I was aware of between the two heads were the drilling of the exhaust manifold bolts and the EGR port (some years). But I can't say one way or the other because I've never tried to run them swapped.

there will be a need to drill a hole for oil drain back to bottom end. where my son works they did a side by side compare and that was noticed as well.
