Well it was originally 215 lbs (lose 100 lbs) but now I have changed it to 185 lbs (lose 120 lbs).

In all honesty, my ultimate goal is to become this. I mean it...really, why the hell not? :D

Another week and another lb lost. I pulled out a shirt I haven’t worn in months and realized that I took a picture in this shirt last December. I took another one today standing in the same spot as last year and put them side by side.

What a difference 10 months and 25 lbs makes!

I just finished doing my data log for my progress so far. The science side of me compels me to analyze this stuff...LOL!

My 24 month weight chart. It shows that my monthly loss over time is 99.59% of a perfect straight line.

I found this today and it is an inspiration to me. This 73 year old grandmother is following the same approach I am to weight loss. She looked like this almost 2 years ago on the day she decided that she had enough of being overweight...

Now she has lost 57 lbs and looks like this...and still headed to her ultimate goal.

You go grandma!

Oh, and for anyone following along...I have lost 20 lbs since I started this thread just 7 months ago. :D

And still going!

Next goal is to cross into weighing less than 250 lbs...and fitting into the next size smaller pants and shirts hanging in my closet...plus buying a new belt!

Just read through the whole thread...impressive
But I got to tell you, in the same way you keep buying new belts you HAVE TOO buy some new glasses, they have clearly outgrown you

Thanks!

But nah, I have always had over sized glasses. I have a severe astigmatism and a very wide field of peripheral vision (over 230*) that requires oversized lenses to compensate and be comfortable for normal vision.

Smaller lenses make me feel half blind...and make me crazy with things in my peripheral vision that aren’t in focus.

Well, there are only 5 days left in the month and while my weight is bouncing around like it usually does, it appears that I have lost at least 2 lbs so far this month and my belt seems to confirm it. Another inch lost off my waist.

I’m out of belt holes again. This is the 4th belt I have gone through. I might punch another hole in this one since it is in good shape and only 4 months old.

Keep going Ddaddy.
I am now down to 217 now. 28 lb loss might not seem like much. But I been keeping at it. Will have to punch another hole in my belt too. I feel great. Learning to take baby steps. Just keeping at another 5 pounds less as a goal. It's really hard for me to think of a bigger number that seems less attainable. So once I hit 215, then I will set my sights on 210. And so on. Not buying new pants yet until I'm finished losing what I am going to lose. Thanks for the inspiration.

I cant seem to get my wife to wrap this around her head. She exercises like mad daily. But then eats all the wrong crappy food all day and gets no results at all. Sometimes she makes a meal that her and the kids will eat, and I abstain because I tell her, I'm sorry, but i wont put that in my body. Then she says "I will try your keto, but am only cutting down to 140G of carbs intake daily". I shake my head, and tell her, you will not see any results at all with that. Can lead a horse to water, but you cant make em drink it.

Last day of the Month and I have lost a little over 2 lbs. My new weight is 253 lbs now making it 62 lbs. lost.

My next milestone is to be under 250 lbs by Christmas!

:D

Great job on your weight loss and documenting it to motivate us all
Thanks! I am trying to keep myself motivated along the way too!

I have found it really isn’t that hard...just eat a few hundred calories less that you burn on average and the weight loss happens all on its own.

No need to change much of anything, just eat a little less of what you already enjoy eating. A few bites less at every meal makes a big difference over time.

You're lighter than I am now. That's fantastic, Dave. Keep it up.

Just read the whole thread, awesome job! I'm motivated to get back after it too. Took a few days off from working out due to some overtime, and cheated a bit. Trying to drop 40.

I just read this from The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. It is exactly what I have been saying all along and have been using for my weight loss plan.

“A common misconception about being in the fasted state (ketosis) is that the slightly increased fat burning from that state will lead to increased weight loss. It is simply incorrect. For weight loss, the singularly most important factor is energy balance.

This is the amount of energy eaten as food and drinks minus the amount of energy that is expended by the body, regardless of how it is spent or the fed/fasted State you are in.”

Like I have been saying all along, eat more than you burn and you gain weight...eat less than you burn and you lose weight.

Period.

It just isn’t that hard to understand...or do.
