Stop in for a cup of coffee

Just got home....

I was an *** today and I kinda feel bad but not really.

I was on the highway 65 speed limit. So there is a lady doing 60 in the fast lane. I go to the slow lane to pass her. When I was side by side, she was eyes down texting.

She didn't even realize i was side by side and looking at her. She was really into her text, must have been pretty hot or something.

So I pass her and get in her lane in front of her and let her somewhat close and I have one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake just enough to make the brake lights come on without losing any speed.

I watched her in the mirror and she looked up and she saw my brake lights and went into panic and I see smoke from her tires and her eyes were big enough to see in my mirror. She swerves over to the shoulder and i let go of my brake lights and floored it.

Up the road i can see she made a complete stop on the right shoulder.

That a girl! You might have sent her the wakeup call she needed..

On a possibly related note, an old girlfriend from Colorado texted me about a driverless Dart trying to wreck her on the highway!

Glad you didn’t cause her to wreck. Maybe she will wise up and not cause an accident in the future

Maybe it was what she needed in her life, a little excitement. Here we have an issue with tailgating, and more than 50% of the worst we have is young women in a white car and a little baby with them. They can drive in 65 and more less than half the car length behind you. And it is beyond me why that is. Young women in cars with other colors and no baby drives mostly fine, or as the rest of us.

Back from the Welderup tour. Paid for a 2 hour tour, 2 hours 45 minutes later we are done. Steve is a great story teller, very personable. My wife really enjoyed herself.
And she was thrilled to see his entertainment stand/garden. she’s pointing at the manitoba plate we sent him.

What is this country coming to....

I decided to wash a big comforter for my bed. So I think it is best to wash it in a bigger washer than mine. So I decide to take it to a coin OP laundromat.

I walk in the laundry and Mexican music is playing, sounds like a circus. Kids running around, one barefoot. They broke a gum machine toy thingy.

I put my blanket in and in am waiting for it and I can hear these two ghetto bitches talking about ways they stage an accident and sue the laundry or anyone around so they "can get paid".

One of them owned a beat up mid 90s carolla with a tattered Obama change sticker on it. She had a real bad attitude and a tattoo on her neck.

They were talking with a vocabulary of an 8th grader on crack.

It's getting really bad out there and harder to be decent.

Coin opererated laundromats always seem to collect the slice of society that makes you question your faith in humanity...and think about finding a way to separate yourself from it forever.

I took my daughter to swimming practice this afternoon. I was sitting in the bleachers watching the team.

3 of the Senior varsity guys started talking smack about how they were faster swimmers than any girl out there. The coach heard them and said “Well boys, here is your chance to prove it. 100 meter freestyle against a freshman girl.” They laughed out loud and the Coach just stared at them while saying loudly “Nina! Lane 1, show them how it’s done.”

My daughter looked a bit bewildered but she took her place on the lane 1 block. The Coach looked at the boys and said “Take a lane chumps.”

After the starting whistle blew, she had them by a full second at the first turn and finished nearly 3/4 of a pool length ahead of them by the time it was over.

After they all got out of the pool, the Coach looked at the guys and said “Boys, you have a lot of work to do...and this little girl is just a freshman. Imagine what she will be like by the time she’s a Senior.”

The boys were still doing laps when we left. My daughter never said a word about it, just gave me a sly smile and a head nod when I met her outside the locker room.

That's a great story Dave. She must be a very fast swimmer.

She loves it and is really good at it. She practices on 2 different teams, 5 days a week. Her daily average distance in each practice is around 3 miles. She is fast and can keep it up over distance. I watched her do a 400 meter medley and she was just as fast at the end as at the beginning.

I haven’t said anything to her, but she could get a college swimming scholarship at the rate she is going.

Hell yeah. Slow drivers, texters and tailgaters are the three most dangerous drivers, IMO. Good job.

My oldest was a swimmer. Not extremely fast but steady. He was usually second swimmer in the relays. He lifeguarded for a few years and had to pass an endurance test pulling heavy weights from the bottom of the deep end. He was the only one that could do it for a long time.

Purdy cool stuff, man!

I could never swim very well, almost drowned twice. I guess that is part of why i cant swim.
My older brother is a strong swimmer/instructor/lifeguard. Well, he used to be. He used to swim a length underwater.
Dad worked for the city as a pool technician,we had free reign of the pool on sunday mornings. I would just kick around on the paddleboard

Thanks. It makes me proud to see her doing well at something she loves.

I swam in High School and so did my wife. I was fast but didn’t have the endurance to keep it up. My wife had the endurance but wasn’t all that fast.

Looks like my daughter got the best of both. Makes me smile. :)
