how do you feel about electric performance cars?

One simple answer: In order to support a magical "now we are all electric cars" world, and the coming increase, there simply is not enough lithium to do so. The recycle/ toxic/ pollution problems associated with lithium make current automotive pollution look like a hair in your soup

When I hear/read about electric cars, it reminds me of the time the wife and I was waiting to be boarded on a flight. The women in front of us were asking each other if they packed their “B.O.B.’s. lol

The day I have to go to an electric car, I'm out. I'll buy a horse and buggy, Or maybe a team to pull me around in the sweptline.

Yea, since there are already some CO2 pollutants, why not just completely flood the world with all of them right?
That's like saying there is already oil in the ground so lets all just dump our old oil in our yards.
….meanwhile the rich and shameless and their offspring will 1)continue to fly in their lear jets, 2) heat and cool their multi million dollar mansions and pools, 3) leave so many lights on that they can be seen from outer space and watch from their ivory towers the poor and what's left of the middle class struggle to find an outlet for their electric buggy. "Let 'em eat cake" -M.Antoinette. IMHO

Enough with the Trump Bashing

So here is the deal, as someone who has been in the auto industry for the last eight years, this is not going away. The mandated CAFE standards are driving this, and unless the standard goes away, electric vehicles will be forced upon the public if they like it or not. The industry has too much money invested in development to back away from using it. That said, I think there is some cool things about electric, but I don't think we are prepared enough to be able to utilize them in large numbers regardless of what the government mandates.

Whatever we spend our money on is what the market will chase.

when consumers start to learn/hear that it cost thousands (literally) to replace the batteries after 7-10 years, John Q. Public will run from it like it's the plague..... and the last 20% of the battery life will take longer to charge and wear down sooner. Like an old cell phone

I don't mind the idea of electric cars so much as I dislike the current battery tech.
They need to last a lot longer on a charge to be competitive.
I don't see a thing wrong with having an electric for daily city driving though, where it's back home every day.

Saw the new electric camaro gm is building, Has a turbo 400 behind the electric motor with a two step. They said it was already turning 9.80's. I could go for that, silent death

They will be trying to ban electric cars from racing in a few years... just like they did the hemi..

so where are the V8 rear wheel drive cars with manual steering and transmissions,roll-up windows,no A/C?
when I ordered my truck in 2006,I was told that I ordered opposite of the way everybody else(majority) does. 7'bed,2wd,4-cylinder,5-speed,reg. cab. was told the short bed cab and a half,V6,auto,4wd was the sought after vehicle. BAH! sorry to rant, just my experience.
so where is an affordable Hemi rwd 2-door? other than a truck?
