71 demon, 3.91, 26" slicks, 11 to 1 stock stroke 360, home ported j heads, torker II intake, 750dp, 4,400 stall. Only time at strip 12.20, 1.66 60', 109 mph, carb was way to rich.

1971 Plymouth Duster in stock dress.
I used to run an LA 360 stock low compression short block from a 77 truck. Stock x heads with a good valve job. Comp cams .525 lift solid lifter camshaft. Torker 2 intake with 750 DP. 1 5/8 cheap headers. 2 1/2” exhaust with turn downs at axle. Turbo Action 10” 3800 stall converter. 727 with reverse Manual valve body. 4.30 gears. Weld wheels running M&H Racemaster J60 15’s on the rear. Ran 12.51 @ 107 and some change.
I still have the car but will be running a 360 magnum that duplicates the 380 crate engine.

I bet the converter alone could get you in the 11.80s or so.

@Scamper

You are using CalTracs with Super stock springs ?
How is that working out for you ?
Seems to be a complete oxymoron with that set up, no ?
Thanks.

Running a magnum 360 cool. What will you do with x heads? Willing to sell?

Did you ever break into the 12 second zone, since that is what the thread is about?

Many many times but with more head, intake and carb on the same short block in the same car

12.66 @ 106.7 with a Crower 294FDP ported 360 heads weiand stealth and 800AVS best 60ft 1.80
12.81 @ 105.5 with the 271HDP ported 360 heads weiand stealth and 800AVS best 60ft 1.84

This combo will run 12's easily next time out when it gets all the carb it should.

The. That’s when you should post it.
Looking forward to it when it happens.

Car went 12.63 @ 107 mph on a 1.853 60ft.
Then why did you not post up that “Qualifying” combo?
Why did you bother to post this “Non qualifying” combo below?
Can you post up the parts used in the combo?
This thread is after all a thread to help out a fellow MoPar brother or sister in search of how to do it instead of fumbling around making costly mistakes and failing.

Your description lacks.

Car went 12.63 @ 107 mph LAST NIGHT.....

It went 13.04 @ 102.5 with a 1.84 60ft pulling 4 inches of vacuum at the finish line.....THE PREVIOUS WEEK.

Its just a stock bottom end 360 with H405cp's

It should be pretty obvious to our fellow MoPar brother's or sister's that a ported 318 head can make power?

I hope this clears up any misunderstandings

I recall your old set up where you had 3.23's and the 292/508 mopar cam. How did that combination run? Any street driving? How does it compare to current set up?
