Holley Stuff

-
I have the intake and it is very nice. A Holley Sniper 92 mm LS cable operated throttle body bolts right up. That's a big plus. And the intake comes with really nice fuel rails for $585. Putting the heads and intake on this weekend.
I've heard mixed reviews on the valve covers, but a lot of people will complain if there ice cream is too cold. Myself... I'm thrilled a big company like Holley is making this stuff for us.

I’m curious about the intake also. I was looking at them for my hemi swap project and curious how well it performs.

I have been waiting since the day after this post for my intake. Now they are telling me 2/7/20 ship date. I need the one that a mopar throttle body bolts on.

Plan on a turbo or be prepared for the proven loss of a good 40whp/40wftlb between 3500-5500.
That's how much the intake alone cost its owner on a stock 6.1L

^^^ OOF ^^^ That's a shot of reality right there. Thats a nice touch on the rear O-ringed plug. Looks like build quality is top notch, maybe not so much in the design. Seems the losses are right in the stock power band, ala sonic ram tuned intake. Maybe it picks it up on the very top end?

Not sure. I called and talked to Holley yesterday and wouldn't you know it today I get a tracking number. Coincidence, I don't think so. Once it comes in I can take measurements for you once I have it.

Going to be interesting to see how it does on a 345 stroked to a 392 with a nice cam.

So today I was doing the install of the intake. I ran into two major issues. First the rails did not set down on the holders. The rail on the drivers side hits the oil filler tube and will not set on the injector correctly.

So when it comes to wiring the LS throttle body to you need to change the connector to an LS connector?

Thanks!

Mike

Any details on how it works on a stock 5.7?

Can't afford the power loss also cannot afford a $1000. Edelbrock intake.

Thanks!
Mike

That test compared it to a stock 6.1 intake. On our Dyno the Lx Eagle 5.7 manifold made more torque and Hp under 5000rpm than the 6.1l.
So it's likely losses below 5000rpm would be greater.

If you really want an intake that make GOOD Tq/Hp and not just one that LOOKS good. The stock Eagle 5.7 TRUCK manifold with active runners is a real monster. But no one gives it the time of day. It beat out the stock 6.4l manifold on a stock Apache 6.4l. The 5.7 TRUCK manifold made the same Torque but ~10hp more on our 471hp 6.4L.

imo that Eagle 5.7l TRUCK manifold would be a great cheap upgrade for any 5.7

I went back to my 2014 5.7 car intake. I told Holley about your test, lets see if they care....

Will that fit the car timing cover and front accessories?
