CFM & MPG Carburetor myths.....

I won't even throw my dual quad tunnel ram on a 318 into this mix.. how did it go a half-second faster at the track...

Half a second faster "THAN WHAT"?

A spreadbore is a off balance wacky design.
The TQ was a race carb first. Before emissions.
And there still a bunch of fun.

Put a 1375 CFM Throttle body on it and 35 lbs injectors...see if you pick up any ET. Remember, 'it will only pull what it can' but also remember it will pull what it can through a straw too, but it will be able pull alot more through a drain pipe if it can still draw fuel. EFI can cheat because it does not need a pressure drop to pull and atomize the fuel, so you can run a huge TB without the driveability of a 1050 Dominator. And the TB's are not all that much larger than the big street Holleys because they don't have boosters to impede flow.

I'm in the process of bolting on 1200 cfm's on top of my factory-stock-block '76 318 with summit cam and home ported heads..... and .... AND manifolds :D :D I'll have fun dialing this in... :)
