any of you guys get a 235 70 15x6 with 4.5 back spacing in a early abody? In the rear of course.

I did 225's on 15x7. 235's would probably work although a 235 on a 6" rim might not be good. . Link in a sec.

New 15" rear tires There's the link and here's a few pics. :

that tire is about 28 inches tall; pretty big for that opening. It wants to be on an 8"wheel, but because the sidewall is so tall,it might be ok on a 6, but I wouldn't run it that way on account of what could happen to me when cornering the way I do.
Also, on my 68 Barracuda, I would have to re-center it in the opening, so it wouldn't rub on the metal-work.
IDK about the Early-As

If you have to, you can go from 6 to a 7 inch wheel. I've ran plenty of 235/70 and 235/75 tires of the Maypop variety on 15x6 dodge truck economy wheels without issue on D100 pickups.

1965 Barracuda with a 8.25 from a Dodge Aspin. Cop car rally wheels and 275/60 15's in the rear.

LBP all around using 1968 Road Runner front parts to include 4 piston calipers.

These 275/60 15's are very close to the springs so we plan on a relocation in the future. 100% stock tubs. Running 235/60 15's up front on cop car rallys too. I paid $10 each for 2 sets of these V dog dish hub caps. ;)

I have a set of 3.55's and Suregrip from a 8 3/8's Dodge truck inside this 8.25 rear. ;)

Just to add. When I bought my 65 Barracuda it had the B body front suspension and a Ford 9 inch in the rear. It had a 383 and 727 too. Replaced the Ford 9 inch with a 7.25 LBP 3.23 Sure Grip from a 1974 Dart Swinger 318 904 car.

I was bucks down and needed to drive my Barracuda for work. The only tires and rims I had on hand was two 235/75 15's from my Dodge D100. They fit on the rear OK. They would hit the fender on front. But that 235/75 15 is almost 1 inch taller than a 235/70 15.
I use TacomaWorld's tire size caculator to find sizes that match up.

All this on a slant 6 ?
Talk about dogging the poor thing.
All or any performance goes right out the window.

Maybe on your slant, my slant is a firecracker. Shifting at 5500 0.473 lift camshaft 9.1 3.09 4 speed 3.55 gears 500avs bigger valve ported head hell of a good dizzy recurve to top it off.

The mostly stock slant 6 I had in a 73 d100 lwb truck with 3.55 gears ran 235/75-15 tread & a half snow tires. It actually ran pretty strong for what it was, but the NP-435 didn’t hurt, nor did the mild recurve.

Some (but not all) of Uncle Tony's Leaning Tower of Power mods are good. So many people have crapped on my \6's over the years.
We sold a 1963 225 aluminum block to a guy from California back in 2001 or so. He and Doug Durta used it in a build.

Firecracker ?
What kind of hp are we talking here ?
I have a 1970 HotRod magazine article, with a Guru Doug Dutra /6 build. With every trick part, and his knowledge thrown at the motor, trans, car weight, on and on. He came up with a whopping 167.6hp at 4500rpm 14.926 at 78.73. And guess what rear tire he used ? He used a 13"x7" rim with a 24.5" tall tire !!!!!! Why did he do that you ask ? Because he didn't want to dog the little 6 with a big *** tire. Most people understand rotating mass, and unspring weight. Google is your friend.
I really could care less what tires you run, but I got $100 your car will be quicker with a smaller tire than the tire you are suggesting. Than again, I'm sure you know more than Dutra.
PS: I have a car with the same firecracker crap as you, i know what I speak..
