dual quad nitrous !!?!!

The wheel hop could be coming from your slapper bars. give the slapper some space so the spring takes some of the shock, before the slappers make everything solid.

I was reading in the mother mopar chassis book yesterday. And it said that the pinion snubber should be 1/2" from the floor.(stick shift car with SS Springs.)

Now here is my theory.
If the center of the axle to the end of you slapper bars is 3 X the length of the original Pinion Snubber.....3X1/2 or .5 =1.5" of play before the slapper goes to work!

I know you would have to refab them slappers to make it work, but i think you're only asking to twist a axle tube if you don't lets the spring take up some of the shock from the launch.

By the way, Nice reaction time!

Back in 1987. Stock 10:1 340, in the Cuda, ran it for 2yrs with 150>175 shots in the mid 11's to win money, ran a best 12.39@108 na, ....with a 250 shot (cheater plate system) to try and get in the 10's, 110nx110f jets, solenoids only had .093 orifice sizes, ultra rich tune in those days, 34 total, hit it all off the line, went 11.01@122, only a 160hp gain, +(14mph)
Holley blue pump/reg/guage for N20 fuel only, 6psi. Never tipped a plug, NGK7's...don't need sep pump for a 150 shot.
Today you would be running a smaller Fuel jet than N20 jet for a clean tune, max gain, timing then mucho important, timing is what kills motors not lean.

Suspension was exactly the same for NA as for 250 hit, handled it with no probs. Stock springs clamped+snubber.

Well I finally got the aluminum heads I always wanted and obviously I've been talking about this for coming up on four years..
Dual quad nitrous! dual quad nitrous!! dual quad nitrous!!!....
Poor 318 has valves that will fly will come back and think he's got me and poof I'm gone again... I should mail him a framed photo of my tail lights..lol...

Nothing wrong with dual quads and nitrous. How about dual Dominator's and multiple stage systems just to make sure I make it to work on time.

Just check prices and it looks like $7 a pound so a 10 lb bottle is $70 to fill..
Probably $30 and race gas at the same time to run it..
I do have one of those aluminum 2 gallon Moon gas tanks with brackets but I could mount in the back. I still have my horrendously loud fuel pump in the back and a regulator (that I don't use anymore cuz it's too freaking loud) but I think I would just go with another Edelbrock electric fuel pump that shelf regulates between 6 and 6 and 1/2 PSI...

Yes, it gets expensive. I have 4 of my own mother bottles, filling station and plenty of 20 lb. bottles to get by for the weekend (19). Including 2 in the trunk.

How many passes do you get out of a 10lb bottle and how much do you use as far as shot size and all that? And size motor? Just trying to get an idea of what I'm getting myself into...
Thank you..

I wasn't going to go probably over a hundred and fifty shot... Probably second third and fourth gear not right off the line..
But I have no idea what I'm talking about really...

U will make 3 test runs the in eliminations u may get 2 or 3 runs b4 the pressure gets 2 low. U may also need a bottle heater and a gauge to keep the pressure stabilized. Kim

150 shot on a 10lbs bottle, I used to get 3 passes in before it would start to peter out. 15lbs bottle would get me 5 passes before the same. Yes, it makes it expensive to go racing, that is one of the reasons why I stopped using it years ago. My 50$ race would turn into a 120$ race if I went rounds.

Remember the Christmas Story, and his wanting to get his first B.B. Gun? YOU'LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT!!!!!!
YOUR GOING TO MELT PISTON INTO YOUR OIL PAN!!!!!!!! :poke::thumbsup:

I know a guy that runs out law street races and he uses an 800 shot.... one bottle= one pass.

The only issis i see is that after you get your all set up, then i have to do it and i jist sold a N2O kit off my shelf. So now i would have to buy one....

Well you got a big disagree for me as well..
I have forged pistons and I wouldn't do anything over a hundred fifty shot anyways...
I thank you for looking out for me...
this is the very thing that got me to stop going to the track so much in the first place and to pay $1, 000 to get a setup and then another hundred dollars every time I have to take it to the track.$70 a bottle + $30 + race gas for three passes. Make that at least $250 every time I go to the track and take some passes..
I would love to do a procharger but there goes my dual quads...

I would have been disappointed if you didn't.:)

Yup that's the one thing that i kinda regret, was going with so much compression. buying that 55 gal drum of racing fuel really hurts.
The next eng will have lower compression or go to alcohol. Hopeful i will have another 15 year to decide.

The engine I've had in my street/strip car for the last several years only cranks around 100psi. It was built for spraying a couple kits on 92 octane pump gas, doesn't take a lot of compression to feed 355ci when the heads flow 340cfm :)

Here's how I see it- I get plenty of seat time @ .20 per mile for fuel, my hi-compression race gas friends not so much seat time at around $1.60/mi. I fill my own bottles, I figure every 40 miles I put on the car I save enough in fuel costs to pay for 10lbs of N2O.
