Yeah, I get that. But it would seem that having them stick up would disturb airflow. I cant argue your case because I've never had a reason to research it. I just assumed mine were correct.

Now that I have researched it (a little) it looks like mine are upside down! Thanks for the tip!

Drove it last on November 22. November 23 had surgery for tennis elbow of all things! My tendon was actually partially torn in my elbow. So its tucked away for a while while I heal. Cant drive a 4 speed with no power steering with one arm!
Catching up on my beer drinking though.

Started to replace the water pump on my '72 Dart. Had a bolt try to stay in its hole!
Put with the tried and true buddy wrench method, I got it out! Top bolt is the bad one, I got just over one full rotation before it broke free and started to turn. As you can see it is bent now. Off to the hardware store to buy a new bolt!

Put with the tried and true buddy wrench method, I got it out! Top bolt is the bad one, I got just over one full rotation before it broke free and started to turn. As you can see it is bent now. Off to the hardware store to buy a new bolt!

What is the buddy wrench method you speak of ?
 
By the looks of it, hes talking about a cheater bar. Like a pipe over the end for more leverage. Lucky the bolt didn't break!
Or you loop one wrench open end through the other wrench's closed end. Handy when a bar isn't around.
 
Working around the rear of the car. This car must’ve been hit in the rear, the bumper crossmember is bent and the trunk latch brace was knocked off. All fixed and the bumper back on. There’s a couple holes in the outside corners of the bumper I hadn’t noticed before. Very strange, must’ve had bumper guards at one time.

What is the buddy wrench method you speak of ?

Box end of on wrench over the open end of the other wrench.
I had a six point box in wrench on the bolt, and a 9/16" wrench over the open end.
Works great, you can use different lengths of wrenches for clearance.
