35th Annual Woodburn Mopar Nationals

Probably, because that's when the rain starts.

It would be interesting to look at maybe the last 10 years of weather after Labor Day and see what it really is.

I don't know why, but Woodburn seems hotter than any other track around there. A 100 degree day at Yakima isn't as bad as a 90 degree day at WB.

I can hardly make it passed noon before I’m hot and ready to go, and I’m not racing.

And they have trees !

I love Woodburn. Best track I have ever raced.

PIR is way quicker if it's prepped. David Nickens would testify in court to that (you'd have to have been around in 1998 to get that inside joke, but trust me, it's true).

You big weenie ! Try Firebird over here in July ! Woodburn is downright mild in comparison ....lol

I am a sissy that's for sure!!! I've been to Boise but it was in the spring and fall and it was nice. I'm sure July gets pretty toasty.

We are supposed to be going to Homedale next July. Obviously that's always tentative, but it's said to be on the schedule.

The 35th Annual Woodburn Mopar Nationals is Sunday, July 19th, 2020 at the Woodburn Dragstrip.
Gates open at 8:00am.

I think the only time I missed it was two years ago in the last five or six...
My son and I would enter the car in two categories for a couple of years.. I would fly him in from Colorado and he would Race Pro and I would race stick shift..

^^^^this long line of stick shift cars in front of me I don't remember seeing any one of them and the final four with me this last year...

Why they don't move that to after Labor Day? Freaking Betty Crocker hot bake oven race track.
With all the other events they have all year long I'm extremely happy they have this all Mopar event with a massive car show and a swap meet.. you had your chance the last few years when I had my motorhome and air conditioning and I would just have the announcer on over the radio... My freezer was always loaded with bottled water and anybody I'm bet I would tell them to come on over and cool off.. some members have..

They don't prep.. I test and tune from time to time at PIR and one thing is for sure anything I do at PIR I do a half-second quicker at Woodburn every single time...

No but if it hasn't sold by then I may pull the car down with it and have a for sale sign in it and enter it in the car show lol..
All car show participants are given a one pass down the drag strip after the racing is over...

Wow. That's quite a few stick cars. I've never seen more that 4, maybe 5 down there on the same day, and that was an Oldies show. And one car was mine. And the other belonged to a buddy.

I know. If Pete is still running the show he don't spend much on prep.

Back in 1998 David Nickens and Bart Price showed up with their Pro Stock trucks.

I'll tell you all the stories from that night when you are buying me a cheeseburger. I don't want to name drop any more than I already have. If you missed that night you missed some killer opportunities to learn.

It was a full line going behind me as well it went all the way back almost to the end.. when I think about it it had to been almost thirty two cars because I went three rounds then lost in the semifinals..

I almost had to hit the disagree button because Pete not only doesn't spend much on prep I don't think there's any at all... And let's get this straight you owe me the cheeseburger for giving me the run-around the entire summer of 2018... Nuff said...
