What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

I did mine off the car. So much easier.

Not my car today my sons and the kid knows how to rock and roll, chip off the old block nitrous injected SRT

Built a tanning salon for my Duster! I added 16 T-8 fluorescent tubes to the ceiling of my 24x24 garage. I just cant have too much light any more!

Cley

Got the driver's side header in today.

Installing headers on a power steering 66 Barracuda is NOT for the faint of heart

Tomorrow I'll get the steering column back in along with the center link/tie rods.
Then finish the swap and fire it up.

Picked up a couple rolls of foil back heat and air insulation from Home Depot 1/8” I think. 50’x12” per roll Floorboards, firewall under dash, probably door panels as well. Hope it works. Going in the Challenger. If I like it, in the Dart also.
Both cars are loud with Flowmasters

Looks great! Do you have a build thread on this ?

Thanks 74.

I'm not really organized enough to keep track of my time in the garage. I try to help answer questions that members post of things I have experience in. But I think I jump around a lot getting projects done.

It's been a real fun swap for me. I sourced a 2001 5.9 from a Dodge van. Sent the cam to Ken at Oregon Cam Grinding. Had a shop do rings and bearings. Then built it from there. I have to work tomorrow but I'm hoping to fire it up this week.

Just saw you're in Dallas. Right down the road from Rome. My last ride with the 273 was to Summit Racing in McDonough. Took 278 to Thornton road.

Finished installing the fresh 340 in my 68 fastback today. Msd was another head scratcher as I fed it with a switched 12v source and got spark at the coil by triggering the distributor wire but wouldnt do it thru the distributor itself. Just never figured it out but changed the 12v source and bam! Finally got to open up my xmas present. Litterally! That makes all the staggering and crazy questions go away. Wanted a different 12v source i guess.

I was gonna use the same insulation until i accidently got too close to a pc with a welder and it lit like creasoke in a chimmney. Dont know if yr gonna want that in there. Ebay has ultra mat and no where near as flammable and is light weight too.

Oh crap you would think that stuff would be flame retardant?
I can’t deal with that, I’ll stick a torch around it in the morning, if it’s that easy to light it’s getting returned.
I always carry a fire extinguisher, and hope it never needs used.

Got the first ever rebuilt engine (360 LA roller) I've done into my Dart, finally! Now to bear the brunt of winter cold (only have a car port) and get everything hooked up and to finally turn the key. Super nervous, hoping it all goes well.

Congratulations!!!

Nothing like turning the key for the first time.

A couple years ago I replaced the timing belt on my Tundra and felt the same way!!

A Toyota? Apprehensive maybe? Excited nah
There’s nothing like the sound of a well built Mopar pure adrenaline

It doesn’t light up. Held a flame up to it for 15-30 seconds couple few times, won’t stay lit. It’s fine.

Sounds cool! What did you use for engine paint? Color looks nice. Yep in Dallas / Acworth very familiar with 278 and Thornton. Gets hectic on there sometimes lol

Yup, Thornton road is horrendous sometimes!!

I got the lead on paint from @toolmanmike. It's Chrysler red engine spray paint from Duplicolor. States it's for 60's engine. NAPA had two cans in stock. I primered it before painting.

Got a little more done today. Electric fuel pump is in, just need to run wiring. Changed transmission fluid and filter. Got the throttle cable bracket rigged. Alternator, power steering pump, fan and radiator in.

Still plenty to do but hopefully I'll get it fired up tomorrow. I'll try not to have too many Old Fashioned drinks tonight...but they are tasting good :D. Happy New Year!

OK, wasn't going to show this until I was all down but why not now. I did a search to see if this has been done. I saw several I would like to's and can I swap hoods . I couldn't find anyone that's actually done it so I thought why not. Maybe there are haven't seen them. Anyway 69 Dart GTS bulges on a 70 Duster hood. What do you think.
