I have been thinking about starting a project log for a while now but have not. My car is still not done but I am making a huge movement to finish it with yet no finish in sight. Plans have gone a different direction but same goal in mind. Things have changed before they ever got used lol. I wanted to share what I have done and what becomes of it as we move on each day. Thanks

Here is what she looked like on day one. I picked it up out Nevada a few years ago. It was a running driving car when found it.

As time went on I started my first part on my build. Little suspension up grade and new wheels.

So I got the front back together. Now time for the end rear. I picked up a complete 8.8 a with 3.73 limited slip diff and complete brakes for a 100 bucks. This is my first attempt at a axle build. I have rebuilt the whole diff and set the lash on it still using the 3.73 gear ratio.

So I will keep adding Little by little I will to get this project log up to date. I got the rear end done but not installed yet. Lets start the engine mock up. Out with the slant 6 and trans. I then set my new engine in place to see if it will fit using a steering box. It is tight a little to tight. Ugh.

So I started stripping the car. So I took the interior and installed it in my other 65 dart that is my driver car.

After test fitment of the engine using a steering box I came to decide it is not going to work. I have come to realize this project is a little more then I thought it was going to be. Off with the wheels as I donated them to my driver time for a true street strip car. This is were my build comes in to play. I have removed the front suspension and k member and I ordered a gerst front end. Started mock up. I choose to build my engine mounts, so engine mock up is now happening now.

Well the motor is in. Manifolds are bolted up. I was going to have my motor mounts tig welded but I tacked them with my mig and decided I would just weld them. Next up the firewall.

I got out in the shop for a bit today. I fixed my engine placement as I learned for what ever reason when I built my engine mounts I was 1/4 inch low on the passenger side. So fixed that. I also started putting my suspension together. I got the drivers side near done and I will do the passenger side and sway bar tomorrow. If all goes well I hope to get my brakes together and installed.

Finished putting it together. I was going to get the brakes on but realized I need longer front wheel studs. Another parts order before I can put the car on all 4 wheels to start the sub frame connectors and transmission tunnel

Made a little more headway on the car. Finished the install of the front end. I got the brakes installed and I set the car down on all 4 wheels. Now time to convert my tr6060 to a t56 magnum.

All of this just to change the rear tail shaft. Little bummed that I need to machine my input shaft but o well. Time to send the gears off to get faceplated. Hope I can get it all back together. Project 65 hemi dart moves on.

Input shaft has been sent off. Once it returns then it along with 2-4 gears are off to liberty. What to do tell then. Mock up the much lighter transmission to build the cross member and subframe connectors. Lil by lil this project moves forward.

No Vegas race let’s play in the garage then. Not at all saying that I am prefect at this but this is my first time trying this. First side went better then the second lol. I started having welder issues. Ugh. I will finish it up at a later time.

Well made a little progress on the car. I sent it to the fab guy that is going to make my cage. He modified the k member mounts and made a transmission mount for the car. He also modified my 6.4 srt Jeep manifolds. We dropped the engine 1 inch. I am now going to start doing the tin work and once that is done he will get it back for the cage. Lil by lil this project moves on.

Got into the shop for a bit today. Started building my transmission tunnel mock up. It is my first time ever doing anything like this but I am liking the way it is starting to look. Poster board First then to metal.
