Graveyard Cars - 71 Demon

-
This is the reason why our hobby has gotten so expensive. That's why I do the majority of the work on my car myself. And the things I don't know how to do. I just have to ask.

Not necessary just them but the Auction houses as well. I guess everything goes up over time. But, when you see the prices of some of these cars Geez.
Wouldn't you say it's more TV in general?
Now the auctions are played on TV..
How about the episode of Desert Rats where they dropped a $2, 000 ultra rare Barracuda back window.. lol.. now every single Ford and Chevy guy I know thinks they're worth $2, 000...

I see the problem...Your confusing "the hobby" with collecting.

Hobbyist writes a whole bunch of checks to many different places over a number of months/years to finish the car he/she wants. Buys tools, learns new skills, etc.

Collector writes check(s) to one place. Like to WormCo.

Not a criticism, just observations.

face facts, when you go to work you try to drag home as much money as possible within reason. just because you and I love mopars does not exempt them from being profited from. supply and demand and the market sets the price. like I pointed out in a previous post, there are places to get restoration work done for a reasonable price. just be glad your not trying to restore and maintain a roached 70's cuda or challenger or one of the other unobtanium million dollar mopars out there.

This season has been pretty bad. I think the problem is that Mark finds himself funnier than the general audience does, and he’s trying to turn it into a copy of The Office instead of a “reality” show about a Mopar restoration shop. He’s trying to shift the focus of the show towards the characters instead of the cars and the work being done.

Wasn’t it just last season that Allysa was learning what the factory markings meant and how to reproduce them? Now half the episode is about her interrogating all the employees to find out why the bucket lift is broken, which leads to showcasing Mark using it as a prop for jokes. In the end it was never broken in the first place, just goofy ol cousin Dougie (stereotypical “dumb” character) didn’t know how to operate it. In other words, half an episode spent trying to make a joke out of nothing. Terrible.

I watch it in fits and starts. I'll binge watch a few episodes until I have had my fill of Mark's stupid crap, and then wait a while to catch up. I try to learn all I can from what Will says and does when they feature him doing his thing. He is a VERY talented painter. The show kinda went downhill a little when Dave Rea left to start his own business, but the new guy that stepped into his position does good work too. Worman owns the production company that does the show, and has 100% control over the shows content.....so I guess it is what it is! :BangHead:

This season has turned into a soap opera again. I have enjoyed it a lot when they concentrated on the cars. Now I have to record it so I can fast forward through all the stupid crap. The good news is that it only takes about 10 min to watch it now.

According to their Facebook page the show is to start focusing on the cars again within the next 2-3 episodes. we'll see.

It's easy to nit pick I guess but hey, it's a show soley dedicated to Mopar and to me that's cool. I think their painter is a total dork and has zero talent. If you watch his spraying technique it's not good at all. Also when they do close ups of the engine compartment after paint it's nasty orange peel. I watch it and am thankful there is a Mopar only show.

Its dedicated to the ego of that Worman fella, first and foremost.
I agree with you but it's nice to have a Mopar TV show even if it's fake. I like some of their tech info when they actually show it. Would be nice to see some A bodies for once.

I watch it when there is nothing better on T V , too much B.S. and not enough hands on .
Most of the facts are stuff I could care less about , and more than likely got out of a book , instead of personal knowledge.
He is not as sharp on hemi`s as he thinks he is either !
His painter and Allissa are getting quite boring !

1 episode on the Demon that I saw. Orange GSS they cut the front clip off in pieces one half at a time. Then they threw the rad support away with the numbers. Not to smucken fart. I would have saved the upper cross support with the numbers and put it back on. Maybe the guy from Alaska will turn them in. LOL

Smucken fart ------never heard that one before , lol .
Most hotrodder friends of mine are chevy boys , at a small birthday party in his business (garage) , their was some talk about mopar boys being eccentric about their mopars .
Kinda struck me funny , a lot is caused by money bags that cant build their own and just write checks for any amount to get what they want , driving prices up for everyone .

Just watched the latest episode. Pretty pointless. Glad I recorded it so I could fast forward.

Never watched GYC so I bought an episode on Amazon and watched it just now.

WHAT A WASTE OF $1.99 and 1/2 hour of my life ! Cant they make a ******* show without fake drama anymore ?

I honestly tried to watch it again over the weekend.
Didnt see any work being done, just a lot of bs-ing backbiting and complaining.
Looks like even his production crew is tired of him.
And he wants to be a cartoon now...
Argh.
Enough.

This last one that aired this week was a little better. Up to about 20 min of interesting stuff.

Worman whined about having to correct horrible work done in his shop by employees he hired to do the work who he now claims dont know how to do it.

Yes, I want a car done in that shop...you betcha.

Watched 2 episodes and that was enough BS for me. Got more important things in life to attend to. Cool to see Mopars, but too much drama. Much like the Gold Rush show.

I watched part of one this morning , he had his grand daughter on it to replace Alissa that was supposed to b sick.
Amazing how much his grand daughter looked like the painter !!

Alissa (or however you spell her name) isn't even his real daughter...
