I decided the Fender tag on my 69 to get the manufacture date.
Correction. De-CODED.
de-coded the fender tag build date states Aug 1 68 for a 69 barracuda formula s convertible. I was told that they did not build barracuda's Aug1 of 68.

Actual build start days were not recorded.
Late in the 1972 model year the door stickers had a new MDH code (Month, Day, Hour) but it shows the date & time a car was completed, not started.

Not sure about the Barracuda. As a young mechanic the rule of thumb for ordering parts was May (5th month) or later was the next years model.
Then theres Mopar, I'm sure they had exceptions.
Checked with an older Mopar fella, he said they did make Barracudas in 67 too. Not sure if it helps.

My build date was Oct 31 68, it is a 1969 car.
According to the same guy, Formula S only came with minimum of 273 HiPo or larger.
No 318. No 2 bbl.
