Freds 73 Scamp restore on a budget

You will like those headers. tti stuff is good stuff . I still think you should consider there exhaust system. I am sure they will make it without the H pipe . No cheesy muffler shop needed
Wish you lived a bit closer sure could use your help.

Bigger tank what did you put in there?
Bigger fuel tank????? How does that work. Never seen that.
I had no idea they did but yea they do Was an option in 73 I guess and trying to snake anything over the rear axle over 1 1/4 about will not fit.

Call up tti they will tell you if it fits. Side exhaust is kind of annoying to me with the noise it creates when inside while to listen to your tunes. Of-course if your like me you cant hear anymore any way.
Tried to put 2 1/4 out the back and no go.

After the parts ordered are installed I will put the fenders on and attack the wiring.
If ya ever get a chance to come visit do so when I start to do the wiring so you all can help. lol
Dang Fred wish I could, I had a ball wiring mine. I'd love to help ya out. I just used an EZ Wiring generic 22 circuit kit. Each wire is marked every six inches where it goes. Still a little confusing some times, and wiring is what I do. Lots of splicing. I will say for most that want an easier way, those oem replacement harnesses from Classic look like nice pieces. Only down side, if it is one, they're so correct they still use the bulkhead connector.
BTW I posted a few wiring pics on my build thread starting about post #350 if it helps.

The wiring harness I'm looking at deletes the bulk head harness so will work good for me.
Would enjoy your help for sure.

I'm the 4th owner Selma owned it till 1997 and made it's way over here.

I believe my 65 is 18gal
Mine must be 20 I guess there is a in dent in the spare tire compartment so to fit the tank. Not sure but had several people tell me that it is an option having a bigger tank in that year.

Very cool to have the background. what was the original motor?
318 and 904 tranny. Dealer installed A/C but was gone when I bought it.
I wanted a Dart but found this one for sale with factory sun roof 340 410 gears and original paint and little rust so looked good to me.

Oh Fred, I totally understand I have had to sell almost every thing have owned, for the sake of the family's well being. A few times, and now finally gaining back the stable.
Your a good man family first for sure.

It was worth every bit just to wear that title of Dad. Love my kids more than anything.
Same here Lost a lot after the wife died not long after the barn burnt down and my middle boy lots an eye. Things were as bad as I thought it could be when I got sick and had to get out of painting cars and start a new job driving semi.
My kids and I are real close and I love them and they even like me. lol

you are a good man to have done a great job raising all those kids. I only have a boy and a girl and finished raising them after my wife was killed in auto accident at 39 years old back in 1993. I never remarried either. BTW you have a beautiful car that you are doing an awesome job on, Joe
