All depends on who votes on it. Its like a survey. Where did Van Halen and Ritchie Blackmore place on the list?
 
Debated forever .. IMHO #1 Jimi .. okay he sort of created a new way of playing the guitar..#2 Clapton the best fundamentally, and the best (in my book) #3 Page/#5 Beck, who could argue with them. #4 eh..surprised Richards ?.. #6 BB King, king of the blues, Yep (but #6 guitarist ? ) .....#9 Duane Allman was great also.. all subjective but interesting to see the reasoning. Also depends on the music you like and grew up with. I'm told #8 Van Halen is a very good guitarist, but I have no idea.

Chris Oliva (Savatage)
Dimebag Darryl (Pantera)
and some times one or both of KK Downing and Glenn Tipton (Judas Priest)

What criteria? Like how many notes can the person get into 5 seconds?
2. Didn't see Robin Trower on the list.

Never cared for his music, but, Prince could play a frickin guitar. I don't remember who it was interviewing Clapton once, they asked what it felt like to be the greatest player on Earth. Eric said ask Prince. He was serious. Like I said, would not be even close to my first pick in music. But you can't deny talent.

Prince could play like 23 instruments. Did Jon Sykes make the list? I must look.
All I know is I didn't make the 100 greatest drummers list.
 
There’s some people on there I never ever heard of. As I scrolled, I was starting to wonder where I’d find Jeff Beck. Now there’s a guy that has mastered the strings but never admits to even being close to it. An amazing sound from him and his records.

There's alot of player's who are great that never get credit and are better than a lot on that list, Peter Frampton, Miles Goodwin, Tom Schults.....
 
George Lynch , Michael Schenker, and Gary Moore not on the list !

Yea, it’s something about being an American flag waver and defender of the rights that were fought for and earned through years of blood shed to fight off tierney to earn the freedom we live with today.

Some people are afraid of the people that want to turn this country inside out and transform it to a **** hole Communist socialist regime that stops and grounds the people into dust to continually feed the rich. A few of which own media outlets.
