Crap winter is here.

Still no go on the ford. I put the new GEM in it and that cured the radio problem but now the windows don't work. And it still won't crank over with the key.
Pulled the cab lights off an siliconed them. Next day poured 1/2 gallon of water on it and before I could get in the cab it was dripping water on and in the dash. Not from the cab lights tho. Must be coming from the around the new windshield.
The trucks and the driveway is all iced up for now. I'll deal with it later at least the 1500 is running.

I am getting old I'm repeating myself. Maybe it's Cabin Fever.

when it rains it pours

On top of the ford problems, my kerosene / diesel heater quit working. Of course it's only 20 years old but still I need it. So I guess I'll go shopping for one of those this week.

drove home in the snow.... still snowing. A wet, slushy type snow that's really slick!

snowing.. and snowing.............. 3 snowmobiles went by.... I don't blame them either :D

weather update: Drove home in a blizzard... my son gets home a couple minutes before me and he went into our ditch with his camaro. It will be a job for the '85 RC tomorrow... when we feel like it :p

Ford going?

Ford going?

No but the kerosene heater is. lol
The fuel filter was plugged. Now I can work in the garage in my underwear if I want. Not that I do that.
The ford is going to a specialist once the snow and ice clearup a little.
We are in the market for a newer truck at the moment.

another storm.... lol

xSnowed off and on all day yesterday here but it wasn't a heavy snow. Now today it's melted it. But it's still plenty cold ou.
So I'm looking at vehicles.
Here's a couple pictures of the one I'm going to go look at Tuesday. The guy that's selling it owns a body shop so he has cut out all the rust and put new metal in this car and painted it. He was getting ready to take a trip to Arizona in it so it is serviced and ready to go.
I figured loaded up with parts and haul butt to Indy with it in March, if I get it.

His car, his money. LOL. Original plan was to put it in storage, but he didn't get that done either
I understand, kids lol.
I just repeated what my dad said for years, Kids. lol
He always said take care of your stuff, I started to take his advice to heart when I reached my 40's. lol
Oh well, lessons learned :D

you know, eventually the old Drag Truck is going to outrun that Scat in the 1/4 :)

I see no reason why it couldn't.
just think of the tire you could put under that truck
you can put big everywhere, starting under the hood.

I think the reality of the process of time hasn't really sunk in yet to them. With the budget cap, the build and the entire process of getting it all to work in the truck will be new to me as well. I've had some "quick trucks for a truck"... LOL, but nothing like we are planning on building for a truck.

So..... If it has the 3.8, you'll be surprised at the power these have, all things considered. If you buy it, we can get the new year started off with a Van race LOL :D

Have not pulled the trigger on the Caravan. Put the F350 in the shop instead for now.
They got it were it cranks over and got the glow plugs replaced and working.
The reman gem that I installed was full of water from the snow melt.
The windshield company wants me to drive the truck over to them so they can leak test it, rather than come to the shop that has it.
Only problem is the heater and radio are still on 24 7 draining the battery.
Fun fun fun fun fun nothing but fun.
