Are there any numbers stamped below the deck surface of the left front cylinder?
No nothin I can see I bought an old dodge truck with this motor in it the owner said motor cam out of challenger
That looks more like a second inverted strike on the J, which is common on '73s. Blocks and heads were usually cast a year ahead of production dates to go through outdoor heating and cooling cycles for stress relieving the rough castings in the "rust lot" before being used. The B indicates Hamtramck manufactured engine.
