Big Block K Frame Identification

That is a SB V8 K frame just like that ad says. You need to go watch Jim Lusk's video over and over until you understand the process.

The mounts on that k frame look like they have been cut off and rewelded in the big block position to me.
 
That is an ORIGINAL Direct Connection K-member.
Ok, I watched your video (thanks for sharing with everyone) and now I believe I can tell BB K-Frames. eBay one above was a Direct Connection Big Block as you stated. Sold now so I am out of luck.

See attached photo. Red Circle area on a DC K-Frame will be closed up by metal plate and the red arrow area of the spool mount support will have a straight triangle side. A home made V8 to BB K-Frame wont have a straight triangle side where the red arrow is and will be set back where you cut the mount to move it back.

Also, I was concerned about what you said in your video about the strut rod holes being oval and the shimmy at high speeds. Was that pertaining to that particular K-Frame or inherit to DC BB K-Frames? Wasn't Sure.

That was that K-member only. The fit was sloppy on the reinforcing plate.

The tell on the DC is the plate you mention along with a similar one other side and the piece welded from the back of the driver side saddle down to the main body of the k-member. The part with the arrow is on all 73-76 V8 k-members.
 
Ok guys round two. I need your help again. Purchased another K Frame that is supposedly a DC BB A-Body. See attached pictures. I’m getting mount offsets of 3/4” on the passenger side and and 1 3/16” on drivers side. Inside dimensions of the perches are 3 15/16. Number stampings on the bottom are 452M401 and 453M401.

I agree with Jim on this those are the dimensions in the old DC engine books that have simple prints of that layout.
