Just wondering what you are running and why? Early into my project but like to plan.

I'm running 14's on the Demon 265 50r14 rear 215 60r14 front on ralley rims, but I did this almost 12 years ago. If I was to do the car today I would defiantly go with the 15's, with way better choice of tire sizes and the decline in 14" choices today. I would also go with the 4.5 pattern unless you are doing an original resto.

15", SBP Cragars. This is what the car came with and we liked it. I'm not sure what sizes are, I can check if need be?

295/50-15s on 10s will fit in the factory rear tubs, even lowered if centered.
235/60-14s on 7.5s fit nicely on the front.
Don't forget, the factory bolt circle is 4", so that gets to be a bit of a problem when swapping to 15s.

Thanks for the input! I plan to run Cragar S/S's & they are available in both 14 & 15 in the SBP. Use will be mainly just cruising with the occasional roatrip, no track activity since I plan to keep the 7.25 rear end.

Look for the tire sizes you want to run first before you decide on the rim diameter. There isn’t a lot of variety available in 14” anymore. If the sizes you want are available, great! But 15” rims open up some more options.

21570R14 on OEM steel wheels w/ hub caps on my 67 notch. I had 14" magnum 500 road wheels mounted with bolt pattern adapters for a short while. White letter tires too. When I noticed at least 90% of cruise-in participants were rolling on aftermarket wheels, this magnum design being the most common, I went back to the oem/virgin/cherry appearance.

If you can, aluminum wheels give a better ride. Generally, they weigh less than the equivalent steel wheels, especially the heavier 5-spoke ones. This is more noticeable with taller and wider wheels. Also, with stiffer shocks.

I went with 15s because of present and future availability of 14s. 15x6 with 195r 60s on front. 15x8 with 235r60 on back wish I would have went one size up on both. Bought the Cragars from Jegs on sale. Free shipping.

I have a 69 Fastback. Disc brake conversion complete and rear swapped too 5x4.5 bolt pattern. Current rally wheels are 14x5.5 with 215/70/14 and a 3 3/4 backspace.
I want to run 17x7 with a 4" backspace. Of course, I have to order online and can't return them when they are mounted... Just not sure if they'll fit. However, the 215 seems quite big for a 5.5" rim....
Any sage advice?

If you're still in the planning stage, now is the time you MUST figure out if you're going to convert to front disc brakes, and if so, what will they be. With 15" BBP wheels, you will have many more choices. Read the fine print from the disc brake suppliers, and do your research. Find out, from other members, the combinations of tires, wheels, and brakes that fit.

thanks.... conversion is done - and not by me, so I don't know where from or anything about the conversion.... Just curious about fit... I know it is hard without seeing. Just curious if anyone has been down this road and can help.

You might want to try starting your own thread and including a picture of your brakes. Especially since your question is quite a bit different from what the original poster was asking.
