I am limited to 15x7 inch rims with either 4.25 or 3.75 BS. This is because I bought the back tires and rims before checking the available sizes for the front and I want them to match. (dumb move). Now I want to get the front tires. This car has a RB motor and no swaybar.. I like the look of the stance that it has now with 215/60-14s steelies. 24.2 inches tall. (the tires really should not be on 5 inch rims, but that is how I got them.). The rear tires are M/T ET street SS 255/60-15s.

What are my options that would fit correctly?

Any specific tire that would compliment the M/T tires out back?
Doesn't have to be M/T. The street SS smallest tire is a 235/60 at 26 inches.

All help appreciated.
 
7" wide wheel, minimum tire 195 ideal 205 or 215 max. 225
4.25 back space may be too deep for your car, I would go with the 3.75 and you still might need a spacer

looks like you need to crank up on the torsion bars a little
there are a couple of guys who are really good with tire and wheel info on here @72bluNblu comes to mind
FWIW, I think you can get a 25" or 26" tire under the front
also, there are a bazillion threads on here about tire sizes
 
Yes the torsion bars are all the way backed off as I have to remove the right to clear header a bit. Left is out already
 
Nothing wrong with 15's on the back and 14's on the front.

I like that a lot, but I cannot get my style wheel in 14s. Otherwise that is what I would do.
 
I have 15x7 4.25bs on my duster, I believe the tire size is a 215/65/15.
My car is not at my house right now to double check. The tires are BFG.
 
Are your rims factory 14" rims ?
Because you either have 4.5" or 5.5". No 5" rims from the factory. 4.5" rims will limit your tire to a 205, maybe a 215.

The 60 series tires have to go.
I would Look at a 215 or 225/70-14.
Or a 195/75-14.
 
The rims that are there must be 4.5s. I will be replacing them. The tire you see is 215/60-14. I fixed the header bump and installed the torsion bars. The height you see here is just touching the bump stops. I will have to read factory adjustment procedures to set them. Another day for that.

Thank you. I am not sure exactly. It is how I got the car. It was a shell with a motor home motor. Now a 512 that I hope to get running again in the coming weeks.

seems I was wrong about the bs so it's a matter of where do you want the wheel/tire to sit in relation to the wheel opening
 
Maybe I missed it, but what bolt pattern and brakes are you running?

15x7 with a 4.25" backspace is pretty much the best you can do with a 15" rim. 3.75" backspace really isn't enough for a 7" wide rim, even with SBP brakes, if you want to maximize your front tire size.

With the 73+ BBP mopar brakes a 15x7 with 4.25" backspace will take up to a 225/60/15, which is pretty much as big as you can go with a 15" rim up front.
 
I put 195/65R-15s on my 7" front wheels. They look good with the 235/60s I have on the back of my 73 Dart.

Your rear wheels look identical to mine (Vision Wheel 141 Legend 5). I did not think I could get 255s on there without hitting either the leaf springs or the fender lips.
 
4.5 bolt pattern. I don't really need or want to go bigger. I would prefer to have the tire height at 24-25 inches, no more. The rear tires are 255/60-15 , the rear is narrowed, not tubbed and leafs are moved in 1/2 inch. So, In a perfect world, I would have a tire fit like this one, diameter and position relative to the fender but on a 15x7 inch rim. What BS and tire size would give me that combination?

255's work on some cars and not others just because of the body tolerances on these cars. Pretty sure that's what toolmanmike has on the back of his. They're the largest tire that will fit with the stock spring locations without cutting or rolling the fender lips on cars that are at the wide end of the factory tolerances. But you need to have 11" from spring to quarter lip on both sides and the backspace has to be pretty much dead on for your axle to make it work. If your car is tighter than 11" or if the backspace isn't right on then it may take a little quarter lip work. Some cars they work great, others need some work to make it happen.

Well when you try to lower your car and completely max out the tire widths you figure some things out. I've definitely learned some things out the hard way though. Thanks for the shout out!

If you meant to attach a picture it's not on there.

If you're running the stock 73+ disks then 15x7 with a 4.25" backspace is what you want. I never run a tire less then 25" tall in the front, it just looks weird IMO. I actually try to stay between 25.5" and 26" if I can. A 225/60/15 is 25.6" tall and works pretty well on that rim, on some cars it can be a little close to the fender. Based on your description you'd probably be happier with a 215/60/15, that will leave a little more room to the fender and is ~25.2" tall.
 
Thanks, @72bluNblu . Sorry, The picture is in post #12. That is 24.2 inches high. I will look at options in the 215/60 to 225/60 range. With a 4.25 backspace.

Ah ok. Thing is that's with a 14" rim. When you go the 15" rim if you stay with the 24" tall tire the sidewall proportion looks kinda weird, it makes the wheel look smaller. If you like how that wheel looks then keeping the proportion about the same would mean going to a 25" tall tire, so the 215/60/15 would be a pretty similar look.
 
In the photo above, the front wheels are 15 X 7" and have 0 offset. The rear wheels are 15 X 7" with +6mm offset. The front tires are 195/65R15 (25" tall) and the rears are 235/60R15 (26.1" tall) M/T drag radials.
