I need to install a new 3/8 fuel line for my Holley sniper and will use my old supply fuel line as a return line.
Question is, would it be ok to run it under the crossmember like this?
I'm not sure if drilling a hole through it is a better option. I plan to protect the line with a longer rubber hose split and wrapped around it, not just the small ones in the pic.
Unless?

There's a reason that Ma Chrysler drilled the cross member for your current fuel line. I'd drill it below the existing line and stick a grommet on both sides

I am not opposed to drilling another 1/2" hole beside my torsion bar socket and sub frame connector but I wasn't sure the negatives in doing that either. So I figured I would ask to see what the best way to proceed was.

Protect it the best you can with the understanding. Even the factory lines can get cut!

I drilled mine then welded a pipe nipple in...

Sometimes you are required to do this! NHRA used to be strict about this!

Street car anything goes. Be safe and smart JMO!

Is there an oem hole in the cross member on the other side of the car? No one said the fuel lines had to be on o e side only

open up the existing opening, get some pipe and make a couple of standoffs and weld it to the X member. upper longer than lower so you can get a wrench on them.

Did this all the time on stock elim/ SS cars.

Make a plate that the two pipes pass through and tack the pipes to the plate. Make a similar plate for the other side. When fitted, tack pipes to plate and plate to X member. Done deal.

I had basically the same question. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the 5/16" line as return or not, but I also have a new 3/8" line I want to install. After looking at all the preformed bends in the new line, I wondered has anybody been able to thread the new line through the hole and keep the line in one piece?

BTW, I really liked some of the solutions presented.

Have to be careful if running a smaller return line than feed. It may create pressure creep as the return a bit more restrictive. Not always, something to watch for.

Agree. I made that mistake on my first TBI EFI. Used the 1/4 vapor line and it barely had enough capacity and the backpressure was right on the edge. Run same size return as supply
