Has anyone installed factory style (2.5") exhaust tips on TTI tailpipes? If so, how did they fit? Any contact with the gas tank or leaf springs?

Thanks!

Good question. The responses should be positive. TTI is quite expensive but probably the best engineered of all the available systems.

I test fit a pair of TTI tailpipes on my '67.
The answer is 'it depends'.
it depends on the how the mufflers and forward are located and hung, and the year.
for '67 with stock located muffler and fuel tank, there will be issues.

I installed the TTI complete 2.5" tail pipes on my 69, no issues. Stock spring and gas tank.

I bet so for the 67's. They didn't have duals did they? I know the HP 273 was still single, the 318 and 340 wasn't available until 68. I guess my point is there were no provisions for right side pipes in 67. Modify the trans crossmember and attach some hanger brackets to the floor pan.

I guess I should have been more specific. I have a 70 Duster with full 2.5" TTI exhaust now. I want to cut the ends of the tailpipes off and install the factory style tips. Just wondering if anyone has done this.

Correct. But the dual pipes were available on 383s, so that hanger bracket can be added on.
The issues are how TTI hangs the pipes and mufflers is not factory, and '67s fuel tank and tail pipes are attached different than later cars. TTI tailpipes I *think* hang from the factory location used starting around '68 'til ? .

Thanks. Yes, that helps. With the rest of the system being TTI, I think it should fit well but see if someone who has done that on a '70 or similar can confirm.
@Rob_Mopar probably has done it - although he doesn't check in here too often.

Racerjo, I have a pair of 69 Dart tips I had modified to fit over 2.5” tailpipes and the angles on them may be close to what you need. Want to see a picture of Them?
