This can be made to work using 1" wheel adaptors (too large for spacers), but adaptors are dangerous. Is there another option, such as using the late 13" wheels that attach to the 10" drum 8.75 rear? Would changing the offset work?

I found that 13" rims will not fit over the calipers, that's why 14" rims are needed. I'm not familiar with trying to use wheel adapters.
 
Everything they said...... I pulled my 13" rims and installed my Dusters 14" Rally wheels, plus I also have an 8 3/4 diff waiting to be installed. Bite the bullet go with 14"ers... besides it will ride better at freeway speeds.
 
why would you even want to....
those 13" tires are the limiting factors with 9" drums already. You can't hardly stop on 13s with drums, nevermind dual 4-piston calipers.

Forget 1" adapters on the front with factory wheels; it will destroy your scrub radius and you will end up chasing the car all over the road.

Speak for yourself. My 9" drums and 13" tires stop great. They do their job just fine.
 
Well crap AJ, Rusty has that Cat on the front seat, and the seat belt doesnt quite fit, so Im sure he isnt going over 30mph :lol:
 
Rusty is right; 9" drums together with 13s ARE fine together.

The point I was trying to make was that those 4 piston jobs will be able to lock up the 13s at say hiway speed, and whatever car they are on does not have ABS, so around and around it will go; where she stops, crashes, or destroys peoples lives; nobody knows.
Yes I have driven old Mopes with 13s, owned several of them, I got my Driver's License in 1969, and there were lots and lots of entry level Mopes with 13s in those days. And you just know how I drove at 16.............
Less than two years later, I had earned the nicknames of Ditcher, and Crash.

Got my license in 1970.... and I knew a Guy named "Crash" back in High School.... no joke.... lol
 
The only cars I never crashed, were the ones registered in my Dad's name,lol.
I crashed about every one of Mom's cars, or broke the transmissions , or they mysteriously started to burn oil.
Then it started with my cars,lol.
You wanna guess how fast Mom's '61 Strato-Chief could motor in reverse? IDK either, but I can tell you this;
Drum brakes don't do much in reverse,and
one tiny bit too much steering input, and
it stops in a daymn hurry,
when you hit a parked car.
Mom was not happy. She was walking again.....

Well, not exactly; he never used the F word. But I'm pretty sure he was thinking it.
But he still let me drive his minty 62 Buick LeSabre; what a great Dad I had.
Course, he rode shotgun,lol..................

I was Crash until fall of 70. By spring of 71, I was getting better at not crashing, and eventually got down-graded to just Ditcher. lol
