Clifford Tri Pac Setup

-
I designed and cast several side draft intakes for other inline engines. 40mm carbs would be a better option for a mildly modified street engine. Also, billet carb bodies used as air valves work good for EFI conversions.

I have a Weber setup going together now. The Clifford intake has a unique throttle system. Here is a picture of the common rod needed to make it work. You can see it and the two rod end bearings it rides in. It's just one of the parts you need. I can post some more pictures for you later. I am using 45 DCOE Italian Webers. It's a sexy system, but most sexy things are expen$ive.

Theres a gentlemen on salnsix.org that runs 6 individual motorcycle carbs on his slant six. He is not using a clifford manifold though.

If I was a crafty fellow I would definitely try this conversation.

They do look beautiful! Oh man. The price tag on each carb is what’s scaring the heck out of me but they do produce a beautiful sound!

I don’t know what route to take anymore.

I have a 440 on the side with rebuilt 904 transmission. I also have a b body rear ended from a 68 Dodge Charger.

I’ll probably spend more on the carbs than the conversion

Well if you are going to start messing with a slant, you started with the hardest intake system. Baseline a build with a single 4 or a super six 2 barrel system will be a lot easier and cheaper.

You’re absolutely right! I’m going to try and find a nice manifold while I stack up my parts list for the swap.

I’ve been looking for a decent manifold but seems like they get bought faster than a bat in Wuhan. The websites are at least about 500 plus with shipping. Even the headers are a bit pricey! I love the Dutra headers look if any member has one for a decent price!

I’m looking for the article but can’t find it. Do you know when it was published?
It wasn't an article just one of the members i remember crossing paths with. He had the motor in an old 50's chrysler. Ill do some digging and see if I can find a username for you.

Good evening fam! I fell in love with the slant 6 and what it has to offer. I just picked up a rebuilt 904 and a tri pac manifold. NOS.

I seen the Weber 45 Dcoe is the premier choice. Are there any alternatives.

Also, do I have to use a drill press in order to make holes to mount the carbs!

I’m a newbie to the slants! Any help and guidance will be highly appreciated.

First off welcome to the slant sickness! Call Clifford performance and just ask the owner he is a great guy and will talk you through what ever you need to know! the next option is Aussie... WOW mega high priced but super good stuff! This is all my opinion though!

Alright team,

Here’s a little update. John Dodge and I worked out a deal for the manifold. He sent it to the states from Australia today.

A member suggested to go with a 40 dcoe carb since I have a virgin slant 6. Any suggestions for a single carb from John Dodges manifold?

Also,
I got lucky and found myself an A body 8 3/4 rear end. Stock axles but it came with a posi with 3.55 gearing. I’m going to install once I get the proper shock plates and U bolts.

I know I have to shorten my drive shaft but idk when to do it. I have a 904 trans but will want to go with an A833 or 727. Can’t decide yet.

would I have to do double the work on cutting and measuring or will the drive shaft work for both transmissions?
