I took out my heater box today to try and seal some of my many leaks, and discovered my blower motor is locked up. I have searched for new ones and all the aftermarket ones have the wiring on the outside of the housing ( on the side the sticks out of the engine bay) I don't like that does anyone have a source for original appearance ones? Thanks

I'm almost on the same boat. There are motor rebuilders, but a NOS might be cheaper.

My motor is making noises. At some point I will remove it and see about rebuilding it myself. As long as the shaft surfaces are clean you can get bushings, ( might have to machine the ID and or OD) and brushed.

I bet if you use some penitrating oil and time you can get it freeded up. If you find a replacement and want to get rid of your frozen up one I'll take it!

Thanks I may try and free it up I'm not sure It will work when freed tho. The aftermarket ones are not bad priced I just dont like the wires being on the outside. Idk why they would make it like that

I have looked all night and cannot find one that would have the wires on the inside.

I took Dana67s advice and soaked it in some Kroll and managed to break it free. I kept working in by hand then hooked it up to a 12v battery its turns! I'm gonna just use it. It may end up locking up again later down the road but I will cross that bridge when I get there. Now onto my wiper motor I believe its locked up to I did the bench top test method and nothing! I bet it has the problem as the blower motor. Should the wiper motor pivot in the end turn freely by hand? Because it doen not! I will give all yall a good tip! Never leave a car outside with the hood removed for 15 plus years

I have been seriously considering trying something like this. Compact. Would be plenty for Florida. It won't look factory at all, but if you don't care about that, it seems to have pretty good reviews.
Hi Performance Air Hot Rod Heater
I think if I was in Florida my first upgrade would be ac ! Lol if been to Florida several times I have a brother that lives there and its freaking hot!!

That is cool then just delete the whole box
Yes I would have no problem getting rid of that big ol box. You could actually leave the housing of the motor hanging out the firewall to keep it sort of looking factory. IDK was just surfing around looking for other options to replace a heat/ac box.
