The pages must be made of gold

I’ve seen it go for twice that on eBay.

How can a 1987 book be worth that?

Because it’s says MoPar on the cover.

I paid around 10 bucks for mine. They are out there for cheap. These sellers are just trying to exploit people who don't know any better

Agreed that they are trying to take advantage of the uninformed.
If that's the case, the full set of Direct Connection/Mopar Performance manuals must be worth thousands!

I got one.....I should scan it and put it up where the manuals are. Its good , but IIRC there are a few typos in it, nothing that you wouldnt catch. $14 at Supershops back in the day. Mine has the guy torquing a cylinder head bolt on the cover.

I've got the bigblock version
Same author, publisher...

Published in 1987, before the internet.

I picked one of those up at the local hotrod shop called graffiti alley about 15 years ago. I should go back when they open up and see if they carry it still.

Gold ? I bet they smell like cigarettes..............and tar and smoke...........

Wow, unreal. Like others, I bought that back in early 90's for $10-$15 and it has paid for itself. It is a good go-to book for stock'ish rebuilds, my son made use of it on his 360 build as well. I used to reference this book along with the "How to hot-rod small block Mopar engines" of the same era (which is somewhat dated now).

So, I've noticed this thing on Amazon a bunch. Either someone takes advantage of folks buying gifts, who aren't car people and don't know better, or one guy puts up out of print book for crazy price and everyone else jumps on the wagon.

Amazon has been ripping people off on a multitude of merchandise since they came to be. I have a friend who swears by them even though I've shown him he can get stuff cheaper elsewhere.

How does it compare to the Larry Shepard book?

I always though that was the bible.

I had an early Ford Flathead book that came in a buyout.

I listed it on fleabay for $10.00 and got a message from a guy suggesting I look at other sellers BIN price....they were selling for $300.00!

I relisted it for $250.00 and it sold NOW!

No idea why... There are plenty of titles covering the same subject as the gold plated one.
