My ongoing battle with a rat and maybe 2 mice. Busted out the poison and laid them out: 1 on the fence, 2 in the garage and one under the dishwasher where my boy saw some action late one night. He had one lased and took a BB shot but missed (laser was 1" off at 22 feet) so the bait was set. I also sealed up a hole under the sink where a pipe repair was done and 10 minutes later I heard scratches behind there so I know one is under there. It took the bait 5 minutes after I put it under there! So 2 days later (no activity since bait night) my bait on the wall is 75% eaten (Its green, smells just like chocolate!) and I find a dead rat in the backyard, 6" long with a 8" tail, nasty little cuss. Today wife calls me and says she smells some funk under the house by the vents. I crawled it tonight and found 2 dead baby rats: maybe 4" long with just the lightest little fur on then and tiny button ears. I threw the little bastards in a bag and hauled them out. Hope thats all I find under there. If the momma is dead under the subfloor, Im screwed. Ill just have to ventilate for 2 weeks until the thing dries up. sick!
 
Dont care for the smell, it sticks in the brain forever..
 
Time to buy a laser bore sight for the BB gun! I used one to line up my regular laser and scope on the AR15, and it worked perfect.

Traps didn't work. Peanut butter and all. This poison is the sh*t!

The parallax of the laser to the scope was off, I later aligned them to 22 feet and got it within .5 inch as the laser was just a glued on laser pointer from .99 cent store with a remote thumb trigger that broke the power from the 3xAA battery pack I hot glued to the top of the stock. Im going to buy a real 'dial in' laser sight for it now.
 
Ugh you gave me chills with this post. I have 2 major fears in life, Heights and rats/mice! In no certain order. I freaking cant stand a mouse or a rat they give me the creeps. You have never seen a fat guy run so fast, as me running from a mouse! Haha. Silly fear I know! Well a couple years ago my neighbor had a rat problem. He had all kinds of junk piled up he is a hoarder. But I guess they got over populated up there and came to my place. It was a freaking nightmare. Luckily I found them and took care of them before they got in the house but them being outside was bad enough. A 410, several traps, and a couple pounds of poison later I havent seen any more in like 3 years.
 
Got flying rats here. I knock off every dam pigeon that lands in my buildings. Scope on my pellet gun does the trick.
 
I worked at a grocery store when I was in high school, and we'd shoot rats around the dumpster after work at night. One of my fellow sacking technicians had a Crossman 760...one of those pellet/BB guns that the more you pump it, the harder it shoots. We would tape a flashlight to the barrel, and take turn about shooting. One guy would turn the light on as the shooter had the gun shouldered and ready. It was my turn to flip the light on one night, and my friend Steve was shooting. We heard the rat in the dumpster, I flipped on the light, and the rat stood up and looked right at Steve. He popped the rat right in the center of his chest! He looked like a little man that got shot! He grabbed the center of his chest with both of his nasty little front paws, and said "EEK!"....and fell over graveyard dead! One of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life!

As long as you can get the dead rodents before another animal eats them up, all good. There have been Mountain Lions die in and around LA from rat poison in their system. That **** just like mercury in seafood moves up the food chain.
 
I hope the Coyotes get a hold of a few tainted rat bodies, those things got to go too. We cant shoot 'em or trap em. They are protected..to pillage cats and small dogs as well as kids.
 
Yea....rats and mice definitely suck.

We lived by a river when I was kid ....my dad had my brother blasting them from the front door with 12 gauge slugs. One of the hi lites of my childhood.lol.
 
Look up a Wrist Rocket slingshot, get one & sharpen up your target practice. Years ago when were working nights, at break times & dinner break we had a field day knocking the little f*****s off behind the buildings.
