Wholley crap I've been called a lot of things but nobody has ever called me a "dick-hole". LOL. But then again maybe I missed it. Prick, A-hole, retard, fat, ugly, smelly, stubborn, chunky, arrogant, show-boater, and several others. LOL.

John, I think you covered most of them. LOL

is that you have one or two characters who berate and belittle people on a regular basis with seemingly no repercussions

If I see the posts, I delete them too --- I don't play favorites. Everything isn't always black and white either. I wish things were so simple.

A thousand posts a day!!

More actually. Almost 11,000 last week.

Do you resemble any of those remarks ?

I must be weird, I felt that I was untreated fairly recently on here, I reached out to the moderator who I thought had the issue......and whaddya know, we discussed it and worked it out. Every thing was cleared up, and all is good. That's probably the best way to handle it...

Ohhh ya I can claim most of them in my 64 years plus a few I guess. I try the laugh, joke, cry at times, and enjoy life. Some people are gloom and doom types and I try to shy away from that. There are a few guys on Moparts in the general section that post on a Coronavirus post that are so afraid of it that they totally stopped living life. Piss on that.

Did that dance it went one sided and unexcuseable.

Like that 360 view guy? Does he do anything other than sit cowered in the darkness posting link after link ?

enforce the rules the same for everyone. Its not just here other forums pick and choose too.

Speaking as a moderator/sysadmin on a variety of forums over the years: that's a real nice theory, and maybe in a perfect world that's how it would work. In this world, here's how it works: volunteer moderator encounters a thoughtless, troublesome post. First one from this poster? Okeh, probably just made a mistake or didn't understand the rules. Ask 'em to fix the post (or fix it for 'em or delete it, depending on particulars), ask 'em to please review the rules. Nine times out of ten, there won't be any further problem from them.

Second one from this poster? H'mm. Well, everyone has bad days; I've certainly been known to let my mouth or keyboard run away with me from time to time. Ask 'em to fix the post (or fix it for 'em or delete it, depending on particulars), remind them of the rules.

Third one from this poster? Tell 'em this is getting old and they know better, and (depending on the forum setup) let 'em know they're cruising for a time-out or other enforcement action.

Subsequent ones from this poster:

Oh, hell, you think that's funny? I left out the part about how, as a moderator/sysadmin, you do all this work for free (at best; it can easily wind up costing money), then you get to hear all about what a jerk/nazі/etc you are.

People—especially the ones who can't bring themselves to behave like a grownup—have this idea that being a moderator is like being a power-trippin' cop with a taser, an AR-15, pepper spray, a dog, a ticket book, a ticket quota, a short temper, and a burning desire to use 'em again and again and again and again.

In fact it's more like being a janitor with a mop, a bucket, and tools and solvents for scraping off and cleaning up chewing gum, vomit, poop, piss, used condoms, and spray paint…and an unexplainable amount of patience for doing so again and again and again and again and again.
