We took a week long camping trip in our 79 Dodge 440ci Fireball last week.
This is a 21ft class C with 77k .
10,400 GVW , Dana 70 with 4.10s .

Prior to the trip I installed new cap , rotor , plugs and wires.
A deep trany pan and pickup .
Checked brake pads.
Routed ducting for fresh air from air cleaner snorkel to the cowl like they did for Nascar in '65.

We logged around 500 miles with 250 of that on dirt mountain roads.
MPG was 6.9 no matter what.

I got all the documentation with it .
Original window sticker , manuals and service history.

This is a hike we took into one of my secret high mountain lakes .
Still lots of snow. That trail is hard enough to follow without snow!
Cutthrout Trout are huge here ! Tackle shop in the nearest town hushed me once when I mentioned its name...lol

Wow, beautiful and very cool you took the old Dodge....looks like fun!

How did you get such an excellent chauffeur? I'm jealous, I have to drive myself everywhere.

awesome dude

just one question, what is this mileage you speak off?

Man looks like an awesome time!

Wife and I were just saying we'll want to invest in a motor home or travel trailer in a few years... Your post has inspired me to look into a Mopar!

This one fulfills both my needs !
Camping and Mopars ..lol

Suspension parts should be here this week.
Next I would like to refresh the engine and maybe add a 4.15 stroke crank .
Suregrip for the dana would be nice as well .
Temp runs cold until I started to climb which leads me to believe someone removed the Tstat thinking that would help cool it . Aftermarket A/C comp sits on top of Tstat housing so it will be a ***** to check .

Last week we were here in Idaho .
3 weeks ago I was in Minnesota visiting my brother . We were on the Canadian border at Voyaguers National park . It is accesable only by boat .

Man, I need a trip like that to destress!! Idaho has some beautiful country. I lived in Lewiston for 3 years while serving as a recruiter for the Air Force. I got a chance to see a lot of the state.

there was a lot of race cars pulled around the country with one just like yours !
It's in very nice shape too!
Thanks for sharing :)

That mileage reminds me of the one ton Chevy dually 454 trucks pulling horse trailers back in the 70s 80s before the Cummins in the Dodges. 6 loaded or empty!! The FI pushed them to 9 or 10!? lol

Seems like I have had some of that kind of fish up in Mn. once, pretty darn good!!! Sweet cole slaw, real hushpuppies, good fries, and that ugly mother, thats a meal!!!!
If it was not for cold and snow, Id. would be great I bet!!!!

I told the wife this morning would it not be great to wake up somewhere in July and it be 55-60 degrees, no humidity and a 15 mph wind!!!!! Trust me it ain't S E TEXAS!!

thats a meal!!!

NOW I know what I want for dinner tonight !
Your wife wants the Pacific coast.. Santa Barbara, Monterey/Carmel, or the Oregon coast.. Coos Bay is wonderful !
NOW, if I could find a place like that WITH TEXAS politics!!

Man you are having way more fun than I. I bet the ISP doesn't appreciate the cat driving, though. That's a pretty good lookin' old motor home!!!
