If anyone has pictures and dimensions on on lower front fender braces will you share them with me!
I having issues with tire clearance on a 68 barracuda, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that they didn't have them but if I could see how the darts were mounted I may use them!
Thanks Rob

I don’t have dimensions handy I can measure a set later. I extended mine about 2” if I recall correctly.

They run from the front lower corner of the wheel opening to the bumper mount. On the fender side there’s just a hole in the bottom lip on the fender and that end of the brace is threaded. On the other end they use a U-nut clipped on the bumper mount.

Where did you find threaded ones?

Not sure I understand. The threaded braces are stock. They came on every single one of my cars, which is 2x '71 Darts, 1x '74 Duster and 1x '74 Dart. I've also seen them on several A-bodies at the wrecking yards. I'm pretty sure the only '67-'76 A-body that didn't come with them was the Barracuda.

The only thing I did to mine was lengthen them so that they push the lower front corner of the wheel opening out so my 275/35/18's didn't interfere. The stock braces are 12" end to end, mine are now 14". Here's the pictures...

I misunderstood I thought your brace were adjustable

I may replace them with a set that is, but it really doesn't matter. I just measured how far out the fenders could go before they started to really distort the body lines of the fender and made the braces about that long.

Normally, the adjustment is the slot at one end. I think I have a pair I'd sell. PM me if interested.

Yes, these are the stock and modified braces off of the car. There is little bit less than an inch of adjustability there. Mine still have that, so they have the same amount of adjustment as the originals did.

i took him the mean like tie rods...

I thought he was talking about the bolts threading into the fender end.

At any rate, the pictures show the braces on my car. And other than being longer they function just like the stock ones do, because they're just lengthened stock parts.
