I haven't built a model car in 30 years, used to build the heck outta them as a kid/teenager
Anyhow, at the beginning of the covid crisis I ordered several models to pass the time during quarantine, but turned out we were only closed for a week, so I'm slowly going through the stack of boxes, some have received more detail than others, I was going to patina the old ford truck, but once I saw it with the whitewalls, I decided that was going to be my "Friday night goin to town truck"

And not to worry there's a 71 duster, along with a 66 charger and 67 GTX in the works
Just one pet peeve, why do they think every MOPAR had a hemi?
Give me a 413, a 318 poly, I'd even settle for a /6

I used to build a lot of em but haven’t in years but I do keep building my stock up so when I get back to them I’ll have plenty to keep me busy.

I saw a 69 Dart GTS model kit for sale at Carlisle Chrysler Nats.
But doesn't $100 seem a bit steep?

I built the bodies and put them on slot car frames didn't handle real well but sure looked cool

not if it's a vintage kit, I want the Johan 62 cadillac vintage kit, about$300 on ebay, I don't want it that bad LOL

Revell-Monogram 1968 Dodge Hemi Dart 2'n1 Plastic Model Car Kit 1/25 Scale #854217
hobblinc sells a 68 hemi dart
I'm trying to find a 30s or 40s dodge to do a "copperhead road" diorama, but all I can find is a Plymouth, that may have to do, only a dyed in the wool mopar man would know the difference between a 39 Plymouth and Dodge, and it even comes with coca cola cases that could easily become moonshine

The latest in the collection

was going for the sleeper look, not quite finished, but close enough to go on the shelf
20200730_192402.jpg

This one I went all out on because the kit had a lot of detail
20200730_192425.jpg

Exhaust still needs connected, but I do have brake and fuel lines
20200730_192515.jpg

Look at the decals for gauges, came with the kit, but talk about a pain to get on right

And coming soon........

And next, an A body..... AMT 71 duster

The rally rims were nothing to write home about, so put a set of torc thrusters off a 61 chevy I had laying around
20200824_221950.jpg

Could build with a 340 single 4 bbl or a six pack, even has A/C

only thing I didn't care for is, you had to open the holes for the dual scoops, but the holes for the go wing were already punched out, so you HAD to use it or have 2 holes in the trunk, or looking back use putty to fill the holes before paint
Came with both black and white decals, along with the 340 wedge for the hood
Overall a very nice model kit

That blue Chevy looks a lot like one I see at our cruise nights. At least when we used to have cruise nights. :-(

Nice work on those.

The wheels on the 68 RR look like fairly modern "aftermarket" 1/25 accessories.
Where did you find those?
All the ones I see are WAY too modern- lacy, low profile, 18-22", even gold.

There was a slant six offered in 1/25. I forget offhand what kit it was in, but I have one.
It's not the Revell early Valiant one, though. I have one of those, too.
As if the first one wasn't hard enough to find, I've never seen another early Valiant.
There is a coarse small block offered in the 41 Plymouth kit, and a much better one in the 340 Duster.
I've not seen a poly.
Of course any 440 could be used as a 426/413 or even a B block.

The aluminum slots may have come off " silhouette" a vintage kit, but the 79 pinto cruzin wagon has aluminum slots as well
I bought "color me gone" 64 dodge 330 it has a 426 wedge in it
The 70 coronet super bee has a 440 six pack and a 426 hemi
The pro street 70 coronet has a 426 hemi, and the ultra rare 426DOHC along with some monster tires, narrowed rear end and tubbed out chassis, the pro street was bought just for parts and will find its way into other models
Planning on getting the richard petty 64 Plymouth and drop the 426DOHC in it, kind of "the car that never was but could have been"
Fireball Modelworks Auto Items
This place looks like a good place for wheels, haven't ordered anything from them yet, but a big selection of tires, steelies with poverty caps, rally rims with both sombrero and acorn caps, and cop car rims

The 61 sat way too low in the rear, a little creative modeling and it looks much better (I'm old school, bigger tires in the back, and a jacked up stance)

Thanks for the link.

I like that they differentiate between 1/24 and 1/25.

Most don't and it does matter.

Next up 1964 Dodge 330 started out as the "color me gone" super stock, but the decals were crap, and typical Lindberg model it was warped, had to use a heat gun to get the chassis reasonably straight
20200906_205937.jpg

It came with a 426 wedge, that lacked detail, but did have a nice set of headers
Lindbergh also made a stock 64 dodge 330, that's the one that comes with the 225 /6, but as crappy as Lindbergh models are I think I'm going to have to pass
