What year is your 273? The first year for a factory 4bbl 318 is 1978. Lots of changes between those two years that would have to be dealt with in that swap.

Stock strong running means a high compression version from the late 60s or so. I cannot remember a 4bbl factory version in that era.
IMO you'd be better off looking for a converted Magnum, or a built LA.

OOPs; it says "good running" not strong-running, sorry.
OOPs title says "strong", so back to the top,lol., but add;
Or a sucked out 360,lol

I would say by "Strong" the op wants an "up to snuff" motor. I don't think he is looking for a factory 318 4bbl, but just a good, strong running 318 4bbl to replace his 273. Sounds reasonable.

I have a rebuilt one. Has less than 10000 miles on it.It has a small luanati cam and 9.5 pistons.New Edelbrock 650 carb,New Summit Racing ready to run distribitor,New Doug's headers.I am in Illinois

R u keeping the old tranny or r u gonna replace it with a newer 68 up tranny if it’s an automatic. The crank register is smaller on the old trannys. They do make a spacer ring for it though. Kim

We have a rebuilt 1969 318 short block and some untouched 302 swirl port heads in New York if you're interested. We were gathering parts for the hot rod magazine budget 318 build but have decided to go the 340 route. I may have a cam. I also have an edelbrock 1406 carb. If you're interested, I'll ask my Dad what he's thinking price-wise.

I’m currently working on a possible deal but shoot me a price. Thanks
